| Responsibilities Own the designs and specifications for physical networking infrastructure Routing and Switching subject matter expert Critically analyze needs and adapt current infrastructure solutions to meet them Specify via design documents then review and critically evaluate options for physical network infrastructure Consider in all cases the operational impacts deployment and implementation challenges associated with design implementation Partner with other teams to ensure all designs and implementations balance the current requirements and potential future generations of networking technology Track report and proactively address network capacity issues based on business forecasts Configure and utilize a variety of network management tools Find and implement new technologies which simplify the network environment while improving security and performance Develop manage and execute controls in support of the customers compliance landscape Follow IT change control best practices for predictable results Skills and Qualifications BS preferred in engineering or technical field Experience with LAN enterprise design projects Proven capability to design and facilitate implementation of large scale LANs Strong analytical negotiation and organizational skills Clear focus under pressure Creative approach to problem solving and ability to think out of the box Strong customer service focus with the ability to communicate with highly technical management teams Demonstrated strong performance in prior roles with increasing levels of responsibility and independence Proficiency working with access control list (ACLs) TCPIP VLAN VRF Port Security Traffic Shaping Priority Queuing Class of Service (CoS) and IP routing Proficiency with EIGRP routing protocols Strong working knowledge of advanced design techniques Strong working knowledge of wireless 80211 abgn Wireless management VoIP H323 and SIP Comprehensive hands on experience building scalable highly available mission critical network infrastructure Working experience with QoS desired but not required Working experience with Network Management best practices and tools desired but not required Strong analytical and organizational skills including attention to detail Must be able to work independently and on multiple projectsactivities concurrently Disciplined and oriented in practice of and adherence to process and procedures Experience designing implementing and or operating highavailability wireless networks Minimum 5 years handson experience with routers switches firewalls and VPNs Experience working in a production 24x7 environment CCNA certification required CCNP or equivalent network engineering expertise desired Intermediate level linkstate protocol experience Familiarity with load balancing best practices Ability and desire to learn independently as well as in a team Ability to manage time well and meet multiple deadlines in a sometimes hectic environment Excellent writing and communication skills STS is a global information technology firm providing managed services managed projects managed mobility services software development and field technical services STS provides the full lifecycle of IT services consulting hardware and software procurement logistics management installation and configuration operations and sustaining support services STS provides one of the largest complement of certified engineers and technicians available anywhere STS currently operates in the United States South America Europe and the Asia Pacific region Customer success at STS is also based on employee success STS employees receive excellent compensation bestinclass medical dental and vision benefits 401K flexible time off programs training career advancement relocation opportunities life insurance and company sponsored retirement programs |
