| Working at New Classrooms We are a passionled missiondriven organization ndash one that continually looks to match our team members with roles that fit their strengths and interests We look to bring on new team members who share a deepseated interest in improving our nationrsquos schools solving problems in innovative ways getting things done in a fastpaced and highly collaborative work environment and growing professionally About the Role Software Developers at New Classrooms work at the intersection of technology and education Building and improving on groundbreaking technology our Software Developers play a critical role supporting the development of new models for personalized education We are seeking a Python Developer to join our team and help us build and maintain our solutions What You Would Do Design build and maintain backend applications that our internal teams use on a daily basis to power our solutions Examples include lesson management systems roster management tools and operational reports as well as tools to automate our daily and periodic student personalization processes What We Are Looking For Strong desire to work in a highly collaborative fastpaced startup environment 710 years of experience developing professional console and web based applications At least 2 years developing professional grade solutions using Python Experience with rapid application development frameworks including Django Knockout and Jquery Comfort with Git Deep expertise in database centric development using MS SQL server (2012 preferred) and Postgres using FreeTDS and PyODBC Understanding of scalability patterns including messagecentric design (eg Rabbit MQ) and distributed caching (eg Memcached) Intimate understanding of advanced OOP concepts such as traditional GoF design patterns Inversion of ControlDependency Injection design by contract and loosely coupled design Proven experience building maintainable solutions emphasis on managed extensibility versioning logging and instrumentation Familiarity with Test Driven Development fundamentals including the creation and management of tests using popular testing frameworks and approaches (Isolationmocks regression testing etc) Compensation Commensurate with experience To Apply Please send cover letter and resume to jobsnewclassroomsorg mailtojobsnewclassroomsorg with the subject line PYTHON |
