we come to work We are URS Energy Construction URS Corporation is seeking a Server Administrator to be based in either our Fort Mill SC Boise ID Houston TX or Princeton NJ locations Position Description The Server Administratorrsquos role is to design install administer and optimize company servers and related components to achieve high performance of the various business applications supported by tuning the servers as necessary This includes ensuring the availability of clientserver applications configuring all new implementations and developing processes and procedures for ongoing management of the server environment Where applicable the Server Administrator will assist in overseeing the physical security integrity and safety of the data centerserver farm Requirements bull Bachelorrsquos degree in Information Technology or other relevant discipline and 8+ years of experience in server administration OR bull Associatersquos degree or technical diplomadegree in Information Technology and 12+ years of experience in Server Administration support OR bull 16+ years of Enterprise level IT experience in an administration support andor oversight capacity bull Must have Windows Certification MCSA minimum bull Must have hands on experience with HP Servers bull Working knowledge of VMware is required bull Must have excellent verbal and written communication skills bull Due to the nature of work candidate must be a US Citizen Preferred Qualifications Technical Skills bull Windows Certification MCSE bull Storage Certification SCSP SCSE preferred or equivalent experience bull Unix Certification SCSA minimum bull Linux LPIC2 or CompTIA Linux+ LPIC3 RH Certified Engineer RH Virtualization Administrator or equivalent certification experience is helpful bull Experience with Windows Server 2003 2008 and other operating systems bull Knowledge of of RedHat Linux UNIX Exchange SQL IIS Proxy Apache ASP or XML is helpful bull Ability to perform load balancing clustering and caching processes bull Experience installing configuring and maintaining all manners of server hardware and associated network equipment including SCSI RAID and IO topology bull Experience with server performance tuning and monitoring tools such as MS SCOM SCCM bull Familiarity with TCPIP and other network protocols and operating system configuration bull Some technical knowledge of scripting code using Perl CGI C shell and Windows Script scripting tools bull Working knowledge of storage technologies such as SAN or NAS as well as Active DirectoryGlobal Catalogue bull Specific knowledge of Windows platform(s) required as well as some working knowledge of MS SQL Oracle relational database(s) and virtualization systems bull Experience resolving server issues remotely bull Knowledge of Netbackup Backup Exec bull Exceptional attention to detail Business Skills bull Strong interpersonal skills bull Highly selfmotivated and selfdirected with keen attention to detail requiring minimum supervision bull Proven analytical and problemsolving abilities bull Ability to effectively prioritize tasks in a highpressure environment and to resolve issues promptly and recognize changes in priorities and react appropriately bull Experience working in a teamoriented collaborative environment bull Understanding of the relationship between processes and policies bull
