| Collaborateorg Anyone can get a job You can help save the world Humanity is facing some very unique challenges today that are global in nature The impacts of climate change on Earthrsquos ecosystem are creating issues that need our immediate attention including pandemic disease weatherrelated disaster management (drought wildfires superstorms hellip) and the need for humanitarian assistance Even the viability of issues as basic as food and water are being stressed and threatened To survive and thrive as a species and as caretakers of our planet we must find ways to work together in addressing these challenges No one group organization agency or even nation has the resources or the ability to overcome these challenges alone we must find a way to work together to address these challenges We are developing Collaborateorg a site to empower that collaboration A worldwide online community of people working together infused with Big Data empowered with advanced technology and analytics linked together for the common good of all mankind The site combines collaborative tools all of the worldrsquos geospatial data in an open free inclusive platform of shared resources abilities and enthusiasm to empower people all over the world to work together to accomplish Great Things We are looking for enthusiastic smart innovative hardworking people that are passionate about making a positive impact on the world Our current opening is for a Senior Web Engineer that will help us develop our Drupalbased portal infrastructure our Data Exchange APIs and backend worldwide geospatial data infrastructure to enable clients to do big important positive things for the planet such as climate change monitoring (NSFfunded project with Univs of Hawaii and Alaska) PlanetarySkin (conservation and climate changecarbon monitoring) The Nature Conservancy (conservation) as well as protection of people (DHS situational awareness tools civil defense and disaster and humanitarian response) This role will have you directly working with our clients and our other engineers to develop our web and GISbased tools to help realize our clients goals in our worldwide cloudbased architecture A good eye for graphic designlayout and extreme customer focus with teamwork and a positive attitude are very important In addition independence multitasking detail orientation and problem solving are highly valued and expected abilities Additional skills would involve building new tools for client needs using PHP JavaScript Drupal modules cloud computing databases (PostGIS MongoDB) and other tools Our work environment is very relaxed and obviously our team is very passionate about making huge positive impact on the world We offer flexible time and environment (along with telecommuting) but in return expect all our staff to be extremely productive positive selfmotivated and professional Thats just the way things should be right Qualifications This is a great job that gives unbeatable experience but we require talented passionate people with a strong work ethic and the following qualifications Required Enthusiastic teamoriented independent positive and motivated PHP proficiency Javascript jQuery CSS SOAPREST Experience with SQL particularly MySQL and PgSQL Experience with version control systems such as SVN or CVS Graphical design skills Web analytic skills using Google Analytics Conversion oriented design skills for B2B and B2E settings Desired Drupal configuration and development Java Programming Cloud computing experience (AWS CloudFrontEC2 worldwide deployments) HTML5WebGL programming andor other OpenGLgraphics experience GIS experience including PostGISPostgreSQL Graphbased database expertise including Neo4J ActiveMQ and streaming messaging experience CMS development and theming experience with Drupal Experience with Drush and Aegir for managing Drupal installations Systems administration experience including AWS and other Cloud computing Mobile app development (Android andor iOS) ScrumAgile Salesforce campaign and report building Ability to present and manage projects US Citizenship andor US security clearance Compensation longterm contracting (1 year) but shorter terms possible Location San Jose (SF Bay Area) Local Principals only Recruiters and firms will not be considered |
