privately held outsourcing providers of call center management and collection services in North America We are currently seeking a Systems Engineer III for our corporate office in Houston TX This professional will be responsible for the planning and engineering of an organizations systems infrastructure Provides Technical Support for a combination of server network hardware software and peripheral equipment Implement install maintain troubleshoot and repair IT storage systems including but not limited to SAN NAS and various enterprise backup products (hardware and software) Audit document maintain and upgrade all IT storage systems Makes necessary modifications to facilitate growth and capacity enhancements Installs new software releases systems upgrades evaluates and installs patches and resolves software related problems Performs system backups and recovery Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Each duty is expected to require little to moderate supervision and guidance Advance methods and techniques used in the installation testing troubleshooting Recommend install and maintain appropriate technology to meet client needs Monitors all Enterprise Storage systems for performance and capacity to maintain stability with uninterrupted operation Maintains and monitors all systems backups to ensure that all systems can be restored from an alternate source should a need arise This position will be expected to minimize outages of production storage systems Applies an advanced level of knowledge regarding the fields concepts practices and procedures Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals Performs complicated tasks while maintaining composure and communicating accurate information to others Design implement and maintain information systems and supporting hardware and software applications Design develop andor customize multiuser serverbased application software systems Define problems collect data establish facts and draw valid conclusions Detect isolate and resolve information system problems EMC Systems (ie Avamar VNX RecoverPoint Centera DataDomain) Enterprise VMware Administration AD Active Directory Administration Dell and Cisco UCS hardware configuration and management Windows Server OS knowledge including installation administration and troubleshooting Project Leadership and Project Reporting Software License AdministrationMonitoring and policing Problem EscalationResearch Continue to master the operational characteristics of a variety of computer platforms software and operating systems Principles and practices of customer service and user assistance Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work in all departments Detect isolate and resolve information system problems Visits with vendors to learn and keep up to date with latest products enhancements and services available and provides guidance to the company on these new opportunities Monitor system and network activities Delegate authority and responsibility Extensive server hardware knowledge and troubleshooting abilities QUALIFICATIONS Any combination of education andor experience that has provided the knowledge skills and abilities necessary for acceptable job performance such as Bachelor of Science in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering Telecommunications or a closely related field andor 5+ years related work experience Certification is a plus but not required Must have a considerable knowledge of principles and practices regarding computer hardware and software systems with an emphasis in diagnostic and troubleshooting techniques Must have considerable knowledge of specialized hardware and software systems used by GC Services Demonstrated leadership success either formally in past supervisory roles or informally by modeling a strong example of leadership Must have and be able to maintain a strong customer service focus Must be able to work and contribute in team oriented situations both directly and from remote locations Advanced Writing and Verbal skills Good business email writing and basic report preparation Basic understanding of database administration for largescale serverbased database systems Advanced methods and techniques used for information system security Ability to advise system users how to apply policies procedures and standards to specific situations Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals Must possess a strong ability to reason quickly and be able to shift attention to priority situations as necessary must be able to reason with other technical staff to assist in the problem resolution process Relies on experience judgment and decision making
