at Baptist EOE Overview and Responsibilities Section Works independently and leads departmental efforts to plan design install and support information systems solutions for BMHCC hospitals and offices by coordinating upgrades and updates to ensure technologies remain current Incumbent will be under the general direction of the Director of Epic Technical Team or Manager of Epic Infrastructure Support and subject to overtime callback and oncall as required by BMHCC Duties and Responsibilities Provide system level administrationmaintenance for Epic backend Unix infrastructure to include multiple IBM AIX servers in both an HA and DR configuration Provide various system administrative tasks including user account and profile management print queue management and automation of various processes via scripting and server capacity planning Perform firmware hardware and AIX OS upgrades and required patch management Monitor overall system performance and perform the necessary tuning Develop Unix scripts to automate Cacheacute administration tasks Research design develop and maintain EMCrsquos Timefinder scripts for database backups clone and snap procedures Plan configure and implement features on the AIX platform that improve availability response time and monitoring of key system metrics Monitor Epicrsquos EMR application and Cacheacute database and respond to alerts Perform Cacheacute database maintenance tasks according to Epicrsquos documented best practices and established procedures including proactively expanding datasets Cacheacute database upgrades environment copies (refreshes) Epic software Special Updates (SU) shadowing configuration failover and disaster recovery procedures Assess the Cacheacute database growth metrics and plan for database growth Be actively involved in implementingtesting disaster recovery (DR) process for Cacheacute databases Regularly test the validity of database backups by performing test recovery Ability to work effectively in a team environment Ability to work collaboratively with technical and nontechnical members of the Epic team Participate in required change management process Participation in oncall rotation which includes carrying and responding to a pager 7x24 during the oncall period Be willing to travel to Epicrsquos corporate headquarters for the necessary Cacheacute database training Participate in other duties as required Qualification Section Expertise in AIX administration performance tuning and virtualization required Experience with IBM AIX v 5x v6x or v7x Experience with AIX virtualization technology ndash LPARrsquos Experience with VIO and HMC configuration administration Experience with HA ndash HACMP or PowerHA Proficiency with UnixLinux Scripting Ability to work well under pressure Ability to prioritize workload with minimal supervision Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written Must be willing to participate in 247 oncall rotation Experience acting as a technical lead preferably in a healthcare environment in support of a large complex vendor application Experience building NIM servers Experience with HPUX (PA RISC ITANIUM) and Linux Experience with Netbackup Enterprise backuprecovery tool Education Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Information Systems Engineering or related technical discipline Experience Minimum 67 years of experience working with and including detailed knowledge of SAN disk storage technology from a major hardware vendor (preferably EMC) Minimum 67 years of experience with in depth knowledge of server virtualization technology Example PowerVM or VMWare Minimum 67 years of progressively responsible experience performing Unix or AIX systems administration duties in a critical production environment
