| SkillsCompetencies The successful candidate must have formal educationtraining andor comparable experience in the following Basics of Web application development (Java Net scripting languages) Basics of SQL programming Excel development Proficiency with MS Office products and MS Project Basics of report development using Cognos or other reporting applications Have the ability to work on several projects simultaneously Heshe must Present a positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills to interact with various levels of management and nonmanagement personal Be selfmotivated and client oriented Have strong analytical skills Have ability to work independently with minimum supervision Have good written and verbal communication skills to clearly and concisely convey both technical and nontechnical information to clients and management Have good understanding of project management methodology DegreesCertificationLicenseExperience The successful candidate must have At least 5 years of experience in support and maintenance of clientserver and web enabled application 13 years of experience in SQL programming for Oracle andor MS SQL server databases Verifiable experience developing complex Excel spreadsheets and reports in Cognos or other reporting tools Experience in developing applications using high level programming languages (VB Java) and scripting as well as a Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or formal trainingcertification in any of the required skill is desired Primary Purpose Work with Project Managers participate in the requirement definition design development testing implementation training enhancement client support and maintenance of various GISECMBPM applications and computer systems of the Gas Transmission Distribution and Storage organizations ResponsibilitiesAccountabilities Work with Project Managers operating organizations and the IT organization to support the enhancements maintenance and client support of existing and development of the new software applicationscomputerized systems Provide technical support consulting and troubleshooting for clients working independently with software vendors when necessary Participate in development of documentation for supported applicationssystems Plan and conduct onsite training for application users on asneeded basis Independently manage complex design and development tasks and smallscale projects and reports status to Project Managers andor clients Maintain knowledge of current company business processes and computer technology related to GIS Content Management Business Process Management and So Cal Gas Operations Conduct independent feasibility analysis and selects solutions to resolve specific requests from clients Continually evaluate existing systems and practices to capitalize on process improvement and cost savings |
