| Seagate is seeking a security engineer with broad experience in distributed systems virtualization networking and platform security to join the Data Center Security Operations team As a member of this team you will be actively involved with various cuttingedge Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) technologies like OpenStack In this role you will help to define the security strategy for cloudbased platforms and will work to ensure compliance with the best security practices The role involves being a part of a distributed team and working independently but in tight collaboration with other security operations and development team members Ideal candidates must be passionate about security strive to constantly improve and hone their skills and be able to communicate best security practices to individuals at above and below their grade In this role you will be responsible for the following Define and test appropriate cloud security strategies Liaise with all teams to help define and set the overall security profile Collaborate with other teams on topics related to hardeningsecuring cloud environments Perform hardening of the cloud environments and ensure compliance Perform ongoing monitoring to detect and mitigate security events Collaborate with multiple opensource communities around the world Requirements BS degree in computer engineering or computer science with 24 years of experience Experience with OpenStack and open source cloud computing software Experience administering UNIXLinux systems required Knowledge of Cloud Computing andor Hosting infrastructures (IaaS) Handson experience with virtualization Ability to troubleshoot and analyze complex distributed systems Excellent verbal and written communications skills Ability to explain complex technical issues to nontechnical people that ensures their understanding Preferred Experience automating with scriptbased languages Experience working in largescale systems is a strong plus Please apply at seagatecomjobs search for position 127589 |
