| Overview We are seeking a lead developer who is looking for an excellent full time position at a leading law firm that has a great working environment Youll work with our offshore development team and other 3rd party providers obtain the business requirements and develop business applications to support our growing business The ideal candidate will be responsible for design analysis development and implementation of a reporting system and as well as providing support for existing systems Heavy MSSQL MYSQL Java VB and NET programming are required The candidate must be able to work independently and when necessary lead additional developers to deliver endtoend web solutions for moderate to complex projects the candidate should be able to define and implement the software development life cycle utilizing existing development and source code version control procedures Purpose Develops and maintains assigned information systems to ensure efficient systems integration and operation Applies and expands client business knowledge in solving business problems to meet the needs of clients and staff Under general direction devises or modifies procedures to solve complex problems considering computer equipment capacity and limitations operating time and form of desired results Designs codes tests debugs and documents those programs Competent to work at the highest technical level of all phases of applications programming activities Working Relationships Reports to Director of IT Primary Responsibilities Create and distribute advanced reporting from multiple management systems for legal cases for senior management and financial systems Databases for these include MSSQL and MySQL Evaluates for adequacy and updates or alters existing business systemsdatabases to meet current business requirements or to correct existing or potential problems Debugs and tests new or modified programs Create test and deploy software to automate business processes for departments to improve efficiencies where they can be made Lead software engineering support of current platforms Translate broad organizational product goals into concrete implementation that accomplishes required functions Define document and communicate technical requirements for current and next generation systems Implement software development lifecycle practices including requirements analysis project management release engineering configuration management and problem tracking and resolution Research problems discovered through quality analysis and develop solutions to the problems Mentors juniorlevel staff Education and Experience Requirements A bachelors degree in Business Information Systems Computer Science BusinessTechnology or similar degree (or equivalent level of experience) A selfstarter well organized a good leader and a team player 10+ years of working programming experience Minimum of 3+ years of working experience with NET framework (VB and Java preferred) Minimum of 5+ years working experience with SQL Server 2005 2008 2010 (construct complex SQL queries and stored procedures) Minimum 3+ years working experience with MySQL (construct complex SQL queries and stored procedures) Experience with source control Sourcesafe Extensive experience developing and supporting web based applications (ASPNET JavaScript MVC AJAX WCF JQuery Microsoft Entity Framework and PHP) as well as middleware and backend components Highly organized and pays attention to detail Strong problem solving analytical skills and time management skills Ability to effectively multitask and manage time well Ability to work independently with limited oversight Preferred Skills Experience with CaseAware management system Experience with SoftPro Select real estate closing software Experience with NSI AutoStore Experience with Client Profiles software Experience with workflow intense business processes and the legal arena are pluses |
