| Allergan Inc is an internationally respected specialty pharmaceutical and medical device company which through its scientific innovations for over 60 years has enhanced the lives of our patients doctors and employees We encourage personal and career development through a culture of mutual respect and professional excellence Allergan is committed to creating a healthy positive and prosperous life experience for all our patients and employees and to extend that vision to our communities In 2010 Allergan Inc is listed as one of the Top 50 Best Small to Medium Employers in Canada We are presently recruiting for a Master Data Specialist directly reporting to the System Automation Supervisor This is a full time position located in Markham Ontario Under general supervision this role is responsible to maintain the Master Database ndash also referred to as the Master Data Management (MDM) Hub so that the database is accurate and up to date and aligns with the overall Business Intelligence Strategy This is accomplished by standardizing data naming establishing consistent data definitions managing customer data exceptions resolving data discrepancies and working with data sources to escalate quality issues when required As the primary resource to the business units this role is responsible for providing ongoing training to the user community on business rules and processes required to maintain data integrity In addition this role is responsible for developing and communicating measurable data quality metrics to senior management and ensuring that the necessary processes and procedures are established and followed via the Data Governance Model under the overall guidance of the Canada Information Services Steering Committee The ideal candidate will have a BA or BS Degree with a minimum 3 years experience working in Information Management The candidate will have a solid understanding of relational and nonrelational databases possess the skills to implement an enterprise level master data management program including data migration experience preferably using DataStage or Informatica tools manage ongoing data integrity in a hub to spoke (master to source) data model and be able to use data cleansing processesmethodologies preferably using Trillium The candidate should have strong data manipulation skills based on advanced MS Excel and Access Experience This role also requires the candidate to effectively trouble shoot and resolve data exceptions as required Previous experience andor familiarity with the Medical DeviceSpecialty Pharmaceutical industry will be considered an asset In addition to having strong analytical and problem solving skills the ideal candidate will also possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with all levels of internal and external clients The ability to multi task and be highly organized will be required as a high degree of flexibility is required to be able to adapt to a rapidly changing fast paced environment Qualified individuals are invited to apply for this position on wwwallerganca httpwwwallerganca We thank all applicants however only those selected for an interview will be contacted No telephone calls please |
