| Key Responsibilities SharePoint farm and system administration setup and configuration of SharePoint Services on Servers maintenance of Web Front End Servers Indexing Servers Planning and implementing server upgrades maintenance fixes and vendorsupplied patches Creation and maintenance of Sites and Site Collections as well as all associated databases and services such as Shared Service Providers and Extended Authentication providers Setup and maintenance of outgoing and incoming email services Qualification installation and maintenance of any plugin feature web part template or solution including 3rd party software or applications Managing backup and recovery practices and maintaining integrity and reliability of access to information Establishing andor maintaining end user access policy and permissions Reviewing implementing and maintaining search services including defining and expanding search scopes Implementing and maintaining user profile properties including MySites functionality Coordinating and implementing governance policies and best use practices and communicating with company management best use scenarios Create simple workflow processes and simple site customization Monitoring system performance utilizing monitoring tools and providing performance statistics and reports such as site usage and growth disk space server load etc Applying SQL Server and SharePoint patches and cumulative updates on a regular basis Author and execute Power Shell scripts that automate routine administrative tasks Bachelors degree (preferably in Computer Science) or Two to Five years experience working with SharePoint Platform (with recent experience using MOSS 2010) in an administrative capacity Preferred Qualifications Strong understanding of MS SharePoint Architecture (MOSS 2010) Power Shell scripting experience is strongly desirable for this candidate Expertise and experience with complex technical activities Excellent communication skills Able to communicate with system users to identify explain and resolve complex problems Communicate problems to vendors who are assisting with problem resolution Ability to act as go between a technical discussion with other computer professionals and a nontechnical discussion with end users Strong interpersonal skills in a teambased development environment Technical creativity Understanding of Software Development Life Cycle methods Knowledge of personal computers including Microsoft Word Excel and Project applications Able to define a strategy for isolating and resolving complex problems Vertex creates new possibilities in medicine Our team discovers develops and commercializes innovative therapies so people with serious diseases can lead better lives Vertex scientists and our collaborators are working on new medicines to cure or significantly advance the treatment of hepatitis C cystic fibrosis rheumatoid arthritis and other lifethreatening diseases Founded more than 20 years ago in Cambridge Mass we now have ongoing worldwide research programs and sites in the United States United Kingdom and Canada Vertex has consistently been recognized as one of the industrys top workplaces by leading publications such as Science magazine The Boston Globe Boston Business Journal San Diego Business Journal and The Scientist For more information and to view Vertexs press releases please visit wwwvrtxcom Vertex is committed to equal employment opportunity and nondiscrimination for all employees and qualified applicants without regard to a persons race color gender age religion national origin ancestry disability veteran status genetic information sexual orientation or any characteristic protected under applicable law Vertex will make reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with known disabilities in accordance with applicable law |
