The TeamThe Insights team manages the production and distribution of the firm's intellectual capital in three key areas:
the markets and economy, investment strategies and opportunities, and retirement.
Respectively, the branded value-add programs, Market Insights, Investment Insights and Retirement Insights position J.P. Morgan as the preeminent provider of insights to our clients and help our sales force in building lasting client relationships, gaining access to prospective clients and in creating distinct sales opportunities that ultimately drive business success through acquisitions of new assets or retention of current assets.
These industry leading insights are conveyed to clients in written publications, video/audio podcasts, other digital distribution methods and in-person meetings.
Our published intellectual capital demonstrates an impressive ability to tap our global, multi-asset class, multi-process organization for original insight.
The investment writing group in the asset management business works directly with senior portfolio managers, analysts and strategists to develop original insight pieces, interviews and deeper, more extensive research papers.
The team also produces a bi-weekly institutional client newsletter.
Position DescriptionThe position, reporting to the Head of Investment Writing, is responsible for partnering with our senior investment writers and institutional marketing directors in the development, distribution and measurement of Insights. This includes, but is not limited to, short educational papers and articles, manager roundtables, white-papers, sales talking points, product Q&As, promotional materials, prospecting letters and digital content. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Assist with editing, delivery and measurement of our bi-monthly Insights and Events electronic newsletter and related tracking, measurement and reporting.Insights project management and distribution, including: partnering with compliance, design, and other shared services teams and providing quantitative distribution measurement.Coordinate email and distribution tracking for specific Insights.Coordinate with marketing directors and Insights team to identify/address editorial needs for the products/channels/programs they cover.Coordinate scripting and messaging for multimedia content, including video production, podcasts, and other programming; Partner with subject matter experts to develop and drive key messages that support our JPMAM brand and investing capabilities.
Qualifications3-5 years of work experienceProject Management - Very strong project management skills/experience required.
Execution - Develop credibility and trust through consistent, quality of delivery.
Ability to analyze problems, pay particular attention to detail.Analytic Skills - excellent and efficient skills using MS Excel and PowerPoint tools.
Communication - Ability to produce clear, precise, well-designed communications in a variety of mediums, including print, electronic and visual formats.
Ability to generate insightful and relevant ideas and influence the dialog around sales support and materials.Team player - Ability to build strong working relationships with sales, marketing and strategy team.
Must be proactive, driven and should work well w/others and focus on client needs.
Strong interpersonal and influencing skills - and ability to interact w/colleagues at all levels in a peer-like way, and achieve goals without direct control over resources.Good understanding of investment concepts, asset management industry and products (knowledge of traditional and alternatives institutional products a plus); passion to increase knowledge of financial markets, traditional and alternative asset classes and pension-related issues.Ability to multi-task, set priorities and has a sense of urgency.
Demonstrate a track record of a high level of personal and professional initiative.
Interest in marketing/communications, markets/economy, and asset management strategies/productsStrong creative writing and editorial skills including investment/financial writing experience.Fast and efficient project manager; thrives working under tight deadlines with minimal supervision.Offers innovative and effective means of communication; thrives working both independently and as a team member.
Bachelor degree or higher in economics, journalism, humanities or equivalent preferred with demonstrated experience and success as a writer in the industry.
