| UTC Climate Controls Security is the leading provider of heating air conditioning and refrigeration systems building controls and automation and fire and security solutions UTC Climate Controls Security is a unit of United Technologies Corp (NYSE UTX) a leading provider to the aerospace and building systems industries worldwide As the worlds leading provider of cold chain visibility solutions Sensitech enables global leaders in Food and Pharmaceuticals to track and monitor assets across the supply chain to protect the integrity of temperaturesensitive products This position supports new hardwarefirmwarebased product development and product enhancement projects with qualification test plan development and execution around approved functional design specifications This role represents the last step in the hardware development process before a new or enhanced product leaves the design group and moves to the Independent Verification Validation process The Design Qualification Engineers responsibilities include Creating and executing test plans from requirements and engineering design documents Working closely with design engineering to include hardware and software interface points in new product designs Creating hardware and software tools to automate the test process as needed Developing metrics and collecting data to assess (and constantly improve) how design engineerings internal design processes are working based on number of problems found at each stage of testing Collaborating with the Design Assurance IVV team to coordinate product and system testing to assure complete product and systemlevel coverage Maintaining applicable work test and process documentation Some national and international travel as required in working with customers or overseas contract manufacturers Participating on Sensitech Core Team(s) as part of the new product introduction (NPI) process Working with Sustaining Engineering and Supply Chain in qualifying suppliers defining special requirements testing and processes verification validation BSEE with 10+ years relevant experience or ASEE with 15+ years relevant practical hands on experience Background in product design and test creating and running test plans which involve environmental conditions such as ESDEMI temperature humidity vibration and shock Experience using scripting tools to create test scripts to automate product testing Experience with USB and serial data communication including test tools to analyze data traffic in both domains Experience using common hardware measurement stimulus tools such as multimeters signal generators and oscilloscopes Experience in writing software (C C++ C) LabView andor Visual Basic to test and configure microprocessorbased electronic circuit boards is a plus Experience with Microsoft office products including Word and Excel Previous ISO 9001 work environment experience Exposure to lean manufacturing and design techniques desired United Technologies Corporation is An Equal OpportunityAffirmative Action Employer |
