| Company Description Control4 is the platform for todayrsquos digital home and is the first company to make wholehome automation a practical option for any residence Control4s affordable and easy to use software and hardware products enable home theater control multiroom music smart lighting temperature control and security through a range of inhome and overtheweb remote control technology The company delivers automation and control solutions beyond the residential market helping commercial hospitality utilities and consumer electronics partners leverage the Control4 platform to meet business objectivesJob Description Control4 Corporation a worldwide leader in home automation has an immediate need for a Sr Software Engineer in its Santa Clara California office to help change the world one home at a time The successful candidate will work with the web services team to design development and improve Control4 suite of global web services ITEMIZED DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES Provide technical development to a multidisciplined team of software web and user interface engineers to develop a complete web service solution which integrates hardware and partner solutions Ensure that a high quality product is created and standards are maintained in the architecture design and development of software applications Establish and follow best practices and methodologies Demonstrate the ability to deliver on strict deadlines in a fastpaced environment Occasional travel will be necessary NEEDED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE 5+ years of development experience Must be technically savvy detailoriented and capable of leading by example Able to work in an AgileScrumbased methodology Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills Capable of effectively communicating with development teams in a remote office Understanding of software development processes including object oriented analysis design and implementation Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor of Science or Masters degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related field 5 years of Java NET or PHP development experience in creating scalable web services Strong understanding of best practices for creating highly scalable and secure webservices Strong SQL and RDBMS design skills Understanding of RDBMS and NoSQL technology Understanding of software develppment processes including object oriented analysis design and implementation BS or masters Degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or related field Able to Perform well in an agile environment ONRAMPING TASKS OBJECTIVES (First 30 Days) Complete New Employee orientation Complete Control4 Tech1 training Participate in 1 sprint reviewplanning meeting Review all current web service architectural documentation including developer startup information Familarize self with the web service developmentbuild structure Establish a development environment on hisher own laptop INITIAL CORE OBJECTIVES (Next 90 Days) Complete initial stories that are assigned in the sprint planning with zero A or B defects Participate in Control4 release planning meeting SEMIANNUAL KEY OBJECTIVES (Next 6 Months) Work with supervisormanager to define project related objectives Meet stated objectives Additional Information All applicants must apply online no emails please We look forward to receiving your application All your information will be kept confidential according to EEO guidelines |
