| PURPOSE The Infrastructure Operations Manager leads the architecture design implementation and operation of the information technology infrastructure to provide reliable and efficient support of services to Jefferson County employees and its citizens The manager will work with industry leading technologies and practices such as Cisco UCSVMware server virtualization Cisco Unified Communications video telepresence 10 GB wired and wireless LANWAN networks SAN storage SQL and Oracle databases monitoringevent management systems ITSMITIL and will oversee operation of our new Tier II Data Center The organization is also responsible for voicedatavideo services email services and customer service functions to fulfill employee requests for services software and hardware and will lead the resolution of disruptions or degradations in service The Infrastructure and Operations Manager collaborate with the Security Officer and Service Design teams to meet their evolving needs This position reports directly to the Chief Information Officer The manager leads the IT Services Operations teams currently consisting of Network Management Windows System Administration LinuxDBAStorage System Administration and Customer Service Total staff ranges from 2535 within the IT Services Division that has a total staff of 7585 Funding is available for training consultants and staff the west side of the state capital Denver The total county population is 534543 according to the 2010 census ESSENTIAL DUTIES Building effective relationships with internal customers to identify business needs and operationstechnology solutions to meet those needs Provide feasibility analysis to business areas and recommend solutions Creating a Strategic and Architectural roadmap for evolving technologies services and operational processes Management of the operations and infrastructure scope priorities and interdependencies of programs and projects initiated or assigned to Operations Creation of tools and processes for the collection of information for resource capacity planning determining current systems utilization and making recommendations to management for purchases regarding system growth to ensure ongoing quality of service Evaluation of operations systems and services for critical points of failure and creating proposals for implementation of solutions to mitigate risks and improve service reliability Mentor and coach staff and teams in new technologies operational tools process improvements and professional development Engaging professional organizations and vendors to maintain awareness and evaluations of new technologies and products leading to recommendations for purchase and implementation Knowledge and Skills Skills and experience in building collaborative working relationships with executives customers service managers teams and individuals Knowledge of stateofart network server database and storage technologies Knowledge of quality and process management skills procedures metrics and tools ndash especially those related to IT Service Management Ability to prioritize multiple projects and tasks to best meet business needs Effective oral and written communications skills for both executive and individual contributor levels Knowledge and skills in staff performance evaluations and professional development QUALIFICATIONS Education BABSMS or equivalent in Computer Science Electrical Engineering or Information Technology or related fields Experience At least seven years experience in the coordination planning installation and maintenance of systems and services for a significantly sized organization Experience in the implementation and continuous improvement of IT Service Management processes Certifications Desired ITIL Foundations ITIL Operations Support Analysis Project Management PMP Offer of employment contingent on criminal background MVR check and education verification SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS Must have valid drivers license if you are from out of state you must obtain a valid Colorado driverrsquos license within 30 days of hire date and you must not have any major violations nor more than one DUI DWI DWAI conviction in the past three years |
