| It starts with great chemistry Whatever youre looking for in a career youll find it at Univar from challenges to opportunity to growth As North Americas leading chemical distributor we offer a wide range of career options personal and professional growth and an atmosphere where people enjoy working together We invite you to join our team as a Program Manager in our Redmond Corporate office Summary of Role The Solutions Manager will be responsible both for the ongoing management of a clear Technology Roadmap for Univars global Infrastructure and for its practical implementation This role will involve management of a small team of Architects and will require the development of strong relationships with a number of specialized consultancy services to ensure Univar is positioned to take best advantage of emerging technology trends This role also requires strong Program Management skills to ensure the business fully benefits from selected technologies and platforms There is significant infrastructure transformation already in process based the global deployment of SAP and the migration to a multisourced data centre and hosting strategy that leverages fully managed colocated and cloudinfrastructure as a service providers The Solutions Manager will stay abreast of emerging technology trends their maturity and the potential benefits for the Univar business They will establish effective communication across the whole BIS department Project teams and the broader business to raise awareness of the transformation in technology services Primary Responsibilities Actively participate in IT and business strategy development to ensure that the underlying IT infrastructure remains reliable resilient and flexible to changes in demand to fully support Univars business growth Management of a clear Technology Roadmap for Univars global IT infrastructure Management of a small team of Lead Architects across a range of technology disciplines Management of effective relationships with technology vendors and consultancy services to provide insight into future technology trends Ensure there is effective Program Management for the full suite of Projects in flight to transform Univars global IT infrastructure ensuring that projects are implemented on time on budget to the right quality and following Univar project methodology Work closely with the PMO to ensure that the infrastructure requirements of all projects are well defined and identified early in the project lifecycle Work closely with the all other BIS Services Towers to anticipate their future demands for technology services Stay abreast of changes in technology including emerging technologies Experience Excellent understanding of Univars strategic goals and objectives Excellent knowledge of Univars global business model operations values and future strategy Adept at working in and driving change in a fast paced changing environment Ability to conduct and interpret research into technology trends Talent for analyzing and communicating alternatives risks and benefits with the goal of reaching decisions or resolving problems Ability to effectively priorities and execute tasks in a highpressure environment Highly effective oral and written communication skills Extensive experience of managing third party vendors Experience of working in a multinational environment Experience of broad security practices (policies audit risk assessment) Experience of structured Project Management methodologies (eg Prince II PMI) Experience of Enterprise Architecture framework (eg TOGAF) a benefit We offer competitive salaries excellent benefits and a great working environment Please email your resume to UnivarJobs30univarusacom Visit our website at wwwunivarcom Equal Opportunity Employer |
