POSITION SUMMARY: SanMar is looking for an experienced Ecommerce Architect to join our enterprise planning team. The ideal candidate is well versed in Ecommerce Systems Architecture and has a proven track record of success in delivering architecture and technology standards for applications, middleware, and databases for enterprise scale Ecommerce implementations. This position is a key strategic role within the technology team, responsible for the design of scalable Ecommerce systems and software solutions to support the business across SanMar’s web, tablet, and mobile platforms. This role is also responsible for providing architectural direction to project teams to ensure alignment with defined roadmaps and industry best practices. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Collaboratively plan, design, and maintain Ecommerce architectural plans and data models. Guide IT and business partners toward project decisions that most effectively align to Ecommerce road maps and plans. Provide architectural direction in the evaluation of third party products for SanMar’s Ecommerce platforms. Analyze and prepare recommendations to address existing and potential challenges in systems and procedures across the Ecommerce domain. Enhance the Ecommerce team’s ability to enable improved business performance by managing the evolution towards deliberate target state architectures. REQUIREMENTS FOR POSITION: Several years Ecommerce architecture experience within medium to large organizations, in a systems architect or similar engineering role. Minimum of 5 years working in a business systems environment. Demonstrable record of successfully delivering of architecture and design for large scale Ecommerce systems. Fluent in current Ecommerce technology, architecture, and design trends. Strong understanding of software development methodologies and the end to end software development cycle. Competent in the following Ecommerce technical disciplines: Technologies for creating web content and GUIs both for the desktop and mobile devices (HTML, CSS, Javascript, AJAX, jQuery, XML) Web-based software design and development methodologies (JAVA, JSP, JSF, RichFaces, ServletS, Spring and MVC frameworks, Hibernate) and technologies for developing online text search engine, image editing, composition and rendering (Scene7) Experience in database design, content management systems (CMS), CDN and enterprise application integration platforms (ESB). Excellent communication skills. Strong analytical, problem solving, and design skills. Acute attention to detail. Able to foster long term working relationships with partner teams. QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field, advanced degree preferred.
