| SUMMARY The Senior Software Engineer will join the Portal Platform engineering team which is responsible for the full software development lifecycle of a new portal platform built utilizing PHP MySQL WordPress and the Yii Framework In addition heshe will participate with the design and implementation of integration and transition code for an existing legacy platform ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design develop implement unit tests for a PHP web application built using the Yii Framework and WordPress web services Participate in full software development lifecycle including requirements analysis design and documentation Investigate and analyze reported defects in a timely manner and recommend solutions to these problems including code changes data updates or configuration modifications EDUCATIONYEARS EXPERIENCE BS Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems Engineering Mathematics or Information Technology or equivalent experience 3+ years experience working with PHP 3+ years SQL experience creating SQL queries and stored procedures 1+ years experience working with the Yii Framework 1+ years experience working with the WordPress Framework 1+ years experience developing SOAP andor RESTful web services KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Required) Deep knowledge and understanding of ObjectOriented Design (OOD) and Design Patterns Knowledge in multitier web application design involving largescale highvolume webbased systems Knowledge of source code control and configuration management principles Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail Ability to perform duties under minimal supervision while exercising discretion and independent judgment Majority of assignments will be done alone so the candidate must be a motivated selfstarter Strong interpersonal problem solving and analytical abilities Professional demeanor team player orientation Ability to interface with internal parties at all levels Excellent analytical skills understanding of project life cycles Fullcycle software system design development validation and deployment KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES (Preferred but not required) Experience in integrating software and services with external vendors and companies (B2B scenarios) Experience working with SQL Server Experience with authorization protocols such as SAML 20 OAuth OpenID etc |
