| Departmental Overview The JELDWEN Global Technology Group maintains reliable infrastructure and high quality services in support of our business Our operational and administrative personnel rely on our data centers infrastructure and applications to conduct business around the world We embrace leading technologies and encourage team work and innovation Our corporate offices and IT team are located in Klamath Falls Oregon Responsibilities Configure install upgrade and monitor databases to ensure optimum performance OLAP OLTP ETL and Data Warehouse integration Progress RDBMS design configuration Advanced query development schema changes add database extents maintenance and optimization Experience with upgrades clustering and data integrity continuity Communicate regularly with management on database performance with recommendations for maintaining top performance Assist with managing pertinent licensing informationagreements Provide user training and documentation on Progress database administration and other related technologies such as SONIC MQ Coordinate with others in the IT group to achieve SLA requirements Assist with user maintenance within the Progress OpenEdge environment Document communicate and implement data security plans Develop functional and technical documentation Desired Skills Experience Qualifications 3+ years of experience in Progress Open Edge database administration 2+ years experience working with other Progress products such as Sonic MQ Experience with UNIX based systems AIX is preferred Experience working with an ERP preferred Four years of college preferably in an IT related field or an equivalent mix of experience and education A bachelor or higher level degree in an IT field is preferred Some development or scripting experience is required Excellent written and oral communication skills Demonstrably strong analytical and problem solving skills Company Description JELDWEN is a corporation with over 150 divisions and 20000 employees worldwide The business manufactures building products including windows interior and exterior doors and garage doors It was founded in 1960 as a millwork plant in Oregon and its headquarters are in Klamath Falls Oregon NOTE H1green card sponsorship cannot be considered as part of the hiring process at this time due to government requirements Candidates must be willing to relocate to Klamath Falls OR for employment Please send resumes to jobsjeldwencom with Progress Database Administrator in the subject line |
