| SUMMARY Formulates and defines systems scope and objectives Analyzes business procedures and problems to develop specifications and convert them to application code8194 ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Understands the business areas supported to determine specific output requirements and report format Supports multiple business areas Defines and documents business requirements Studies existing data systems to evaluate effectiveness Develops new and modifies current systems to improve processes by researching new technology and applying it to complex business issues or projects Leads one or more medium sized and complex projects which entail overseeing internal IT professionals as well as external IT professionals Codes tests debugs documents installs provides training and maintains programs Conducts studies pertaining to development of new systems to meet current and projected needs Plans and prepares documentation of the development and functioning of operational systems Prepares technical reports and instructional manuals Provides technical leadership and business expertise to subordinates and peers on complex projects by evaluating and recommending appropriate development tools Prepares proposals and recommendations for management and users Responsible for conducting or coordinating quality assurance testing Develops business relationships and integrates activities with other IT business unitsareas to ensure successful implementation and support of project efforts Creates work plans for others and is expected to meet budget and schedule commitments Functions as a liaison with other departments divisions and organizations Communicates project status to all levels of management Provides oncall support during offhours Perform root cause analysis for any technical application issues Lead technical understanding for successful upgrades and implementation of future phases of application Creates technical documentation Maintains satisfactory attendance to include timeliness Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality environmental and safety regulatory considerations If accountable for the work of others responsible for essential functions MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or GED Bachelors degree plus 3 years business intelligence experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility or 7 years business intelligence experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility Experience writing and debugging SQL Minimum 3 years of experience with MicroStrategy (version 8 or more recent) PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in Computer Science Business Administration MIS Mathematics or Engineering plus 5 years of experience in MicroStrategy Development to include 3 years of experience in MicroStrategy Architecting Experience with Netezza Oracle and SQL Server databases Experience with the installation and configuration of Microsoft 2003 or 2008 Operating Systems hot fixes and patches Experience working with a MicroStrategy clustered web and iServer environment Experience working with Database Schemas and understand Data Warehousing and ETL concepts Experience in architecting MicroStrategy metadata projects including object and metric creation Experience with MicroStrategy Report and Dashboard development Experience in BI change control process and object migration tasks with MicroStrategy Object Manager Experience with MicroStrategy implementations Experience with MicroStrategy inmemory functionality Experience with performance tuning of MicroStrategy applications dashboards and reports through the use of MicroStrategy tools and data model design optimization Understanding of MicroStrategy SDK standards and best practices and the processes to manage and promote customizations through the MicroStrategy environments Experience with MicroStrategy mobile application environment and the necessary configuration of the servers and mobile devices Experience in MicroStrategy application installation security set up System Hot Fix and Upgrades Experience in MicroStrategy Enterprise Manager and Command Manager Experience in MicroStrategy Visual Insights Experience in MicroStrategy Transaction Services Certified Engineer Certified Administrator Certified Project Designer Certified ReportDashboard Developer PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands
