| Description Elite Computer Consulting is recruiting for a nationally known top of the market Healthcare Computer Software Company located in Springfield Missouri The said company develops and installs healthcare information technology systems that eliminate the need for paper prescriptions and paper medical records Their software and hardware are used in more than 70 of the nations hospitals with more than 200 beds The hospital information system solutions include electronic health record systems and clinical decision support systems The Software Development Manager is responsible for all aspects of the development of a software system program or project(s) focused on the delivery of product to external customers This person will oversee all aspects of software programsproject(s) and is responsible for monitoring reporting and delivery of projects from original concept through final beta implementation The manager will work with all areas affected by the project including Product Management (Requirements) Engineering Quality Assurance Technical Writing and Beta Sites This person will assess project issues and develop resolutions to meet budget quality and scope goals In coordination with other Software Managers and Product Management the manager will develop project plans schedules project estimates resource plans budgets and status reports Position Description Leads multiple crossfunctional teams working on a variety of software projects Maintains a strong understanding of programming languages and concepts (HTML C Java Script NVC) Performs management and oversight of the Application Architects Programmers and Quality Assurance Oversees all design and development tasks Demonstrates expertise and leadership in the area of system design and development concepts practices and procedures Plans goals and objectives for the application architects team leads and programmers Ensure that all team members are performing at a high level to meet the needs of the company ensures that the appropriate metrics are collected to support the objective assessment of individual and team performance Assesses team members quality performance and effectiveness Participates in design reviews Performs resource administration resource planning and resource allocation for the team members Organizes and establishes revision of internal operating practices and procedures and the schedulingassignment of staff Ensure that breakfix work and beta issues are prioritized and completed appropriately to avoid or minimize impacts to business operations and customers Collaborates with IS and business staff to ensure that project goals and milestones are met Defines documents and implements best practices for application design development version control code migration implementation and application support Participates in work and project estimation and scheduling Performs quality audits on the work to ensure work products meet or exceed the defined standards Leads or assists with problem triage troubleshooting and resolution Assists with department budget preparation manages budget process and monitors compliance with budget parameters Effectively respond to changing project and client needs while balancing multiple ongoing projects Assist in resolution of discrepancies between user policies and software functionality through technical solutions or policy reengineering Recognize areas for internal improvement and developing plans for implementing them Strives for process improvements in several aspects of software programproject execution Handles overall management responsibility of the software release management process Works on complex projects where analysis of risks or data requires an indepth evaluation of various factors Plans and sets project goals and milestones Define resources and the schedule for the implementation of the program Devises different risk management strategies for dealing with potential risks as well as covering them Coordinates with Product Management to clearly define requirements Detect and solve project issues effectively Frequently perform team assessments and evaluations Make sure all the measures comply with company standards and procedures Facilitates and makes trade off decisions between quality costs resources scope and time Works with all the stakeholders to define and execute the software programproject(s) Job Requirements Bachelors degree in a business or computer science related field or equivalent combination of education and experience is required 4+ years software engineering experience including three to five years managerial experience working on software development projects Working knowledge of programming languages (HTML C Java Script ASPNET NVC SQL Server) relational database management system concepts and object design as related to software application solutions application design and development planning Experience in large scale system implementation efforts following a standard software development lifecycle approach Strong process quality assurance incident problem management and general operational experience as well as experience in vendor management andor application development Strong knowledge of industry standard development methodologies and technologies Experience working on multiple projects and activities simultaneously Demonstrates expertise in software development concepts practices and procedures Prior experience in the health care information technology industry is preferred Strong leadership and organization skills Strong problem solving and conflict management skills including the ability to minimize conflict and find mutually acceptable resolutions required Exceptional communication skills (verbal and written) Excellent interpersonal skills including the ability to work with both internal and external customers and all levels of the organization required Project management skills Clear analytical thinking and problemsolving skills Experience working with Scrum processes Demonstrated experience in software development lifecycle (both planbased and agile experience relevant) Demonstrated selfstarter with excellent interpersonal skills Clinical andor healthcare experience a plus 35 years experience in Information Technology Mangement SQL Server Scrum Process Experience Budgeting and Forecasting |
