Job Description
| The University of Southern California and Organization Improvement Services is seeking a teamoriented and selfstarting Business Analyst skilled and experienced at obtaining user requirements through a consultative approach The Business Analyst is responsible for obtaining and documenting the user requirements for the universitys future financial and workflow systems which are built upon the Kuali open source platform The ideal candidate will be familiar with higher education administrative and accounting processes and have prior experience employing system development methodologies for successful webbased applications There is a strong preference for candidates with background in one or more of the following areas Financial Systems Business Intelligence Payroll and Human Resources Research Administration As part of a greater project team that spans multiple departments the Business Analyst will have the following responsibilities Create and maintain all user requirements including the use cases user interface designs supplemental requirements documentation process maps report design and access and security requirements Analyze and define business processes both as is and to be Identify areas where processes can be streamlined Effectively utilize standard business analysis and project management tools and methodologies Coordinate user acceptance testing Serve as a liaison for programmers and university stakeholders Respond to questions provide research analysis and problem resolution as needed Facilitate meetings to ensure user requirements are complete and thorough Meet deadlines on deliverables Understand the big picture and work with stakeholders to develop solutions that benefit the entire university Perform testing as needed on system modules in BAs areas of focus Minimum Qualifications Minimum 3 years experience in business analysis and developing specifications for successfully implemented webbased applications Minimum bachelors degree in business accounting management information systems or related degree High degree of responsibility and accountability Strong listening and interviewing skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to thrive in dynamic and ambiguous situations Preferred Qualifications Masters degree in business accounting management information systems or related degree Higher education or Kuali experience Microsoft Project experience Experience working on crossfunctional teams Experience with process mapping in Visio Its an exciting time at USC We are worldrenowned for our innovative education academic excellence and pathbreaking research in a vibrant region exploding with potential As part of a university that is on an upward trajectory excellent development and advancement opportunities are possible here Ultimately you will support the universitys expansive humanitycentered mission The development of human beings and society as a whole through the cultivation and enrichment of the human mind and spirit USC has excellent benefits including health benefits for staff and their family with access to the renowned university medical network eligibility for retirement plans with employer contributions after six (6) months of employment tuition benefits for staff and their family central Los Angeles location with easy access to commuter trains buses and free tram pick up services discounts to football basketball and other campus events The University of Southern California is an Equal Opportunity Employer that Values Diversity 3 years Combined educationexperience as substitute for minimum experience Bachelors degree Combined experienceeducation as substitute for minimum education Sound knowledge of documentation procedures project management methodologies program flow charts and operator instructions Competent to work independently on complex programming activities Apply Here httpwwwClick2Applynetf7twzm7 |
