| Staff Assistant Network Analyst This is an Exempt position which falls within the APA Union The Staff Assistant will support and document the Universitys wired and wireless networks maintain wiring standards of the University install configure and manage network devices and perform other duties as assigned in support of the Universitys mission To educate the residents of southeastern Massachusetts and the Commonwealth and to use its intellectual scientific and technological resources to support and advance the economic and cultural life of the region and the state SUPERVISION RECEIVED Reports to the Director of Networking CORE DUTIES 1 Document and monitor the Universitys wired and wireless networks 2 Work effectively and collegially in a team environment with coworkers and colleagues 3 Configure install and troubleshoot network devices including routers firewalls switches VPNs wireless access points and various network appliances 4 Troubleshoot escalated end user network software and hardware problems 5 Evaluate new technologies and propose recommendations for improvement of the campus infrastructure 6 Support and assist in maintaining servers and applications 7 Proactively identify network performance issues and recommend remediation 8 Increase network security through ongoing documentation monitoring and configuration 9 Job duties will occasionally require that work be performed after hours and on weekends 10 Additional responsibilities as directed by supervisor consistent with rank and position Required Minimum Qualifications 1 35 years of experience supporting an enterprise network infrastructure 2 Knowledge of TCPIP DHCP and DNS 3 Experience with network equipment including but not limited to routers switches wireless access points servers modems printers etc 4 Experience with current and past Microsoft Operating Systems 5 Experience with Cisco network equipment 6 Physical ability to lift 35lbs 7 Excellent communication and multitasking skills and the ability to work individually and in a team environment Preferred Qualifications 1 Bachelors Degree 2 Familiarity of current and emerging data technologies including wired wireless and security 3 Knowledge of UNIX (Linux) 4 Knowledge of wiring standards (TIAEIA) 5 Knowledge of Macintosh OS 6 Knowledge of various network operating systems (Cisco Juniper Palo Alto Networks Aruba Enterasys Foundry HP et cetera) 7 Certifications in network technologies (CompTIA Network+ Cisco Juniper Enterasys etc) Special Instructions to Applicants Please be prepared to provide a copy any certifications you may have received Salary Commensurate with qualifications and experience TO APPLY Interested applicants should apply online at httpjobsbridgewedu Bridgewater State University is an affirmative actionequal opportunity employer which actively seeks to increase the diversity of its workforce Apply Here httpwwwClick2applynetqwynswb |
