| Auto req ID 916BR Organization AS6306370 IT Security Location WPB Adm Headquarters (B2) Job Description Senior specialist position that participates in the delivery of IT Security services and solutions to support the Districts strategic programs Incumbent applies a comprehensive knowledge of software hardware networks and operating systems with IT industry best practices to manage the Districts IT Security resources in the most effective and efficient manner possible Install configure maintain test and support complex security applications Must have comprehensive knowledge of Firewalls and be able to write simple to complex firewall rules Must also have working knowledge of the following applications SSLVPN Network Access Control (NAC)Unified Access Control (UAC) Intrusion Detection and Prevention (IDP) systems Antivirus protection RSA technology Web Filtering and Proxy services Assists in developing policies and procedures and ensures adherence to them by conducting regular security audits Troubleshoot moderate to complex hardware or software issues and will be expected to resolve root causes Actively participate in the timely resolution of help desk tickets Contact relevant hardware or software vendor technical support to get assistance in solving technical issues Lead the testing and deploying for the release of new technologies and applications Implement upgrade and apply software patches andor hardware changes to correct network deficiencies and improve system performance Develop and implement effective shortterm workarounds with corresponding longterm solutions Create system backup plans ensure data recoverability conduct performance audits manage security access and perform change controls for complex applications Monitor software applications and document spikes or drops in performance to determine what portion(s) of the application needs to be optimized to meet user requirements Participates in the evaluation of vendor hardware andor software products Incumbent receives minimal supervision and provides technical coaching to staff Typically has a Bachelors Degree in a related field and 8+ years experience that demonstrates measurable career and technical progression that can be applied to support the IT Bureaursquos objectives Typically total experience includes 3 years focusing on any technical area within IT in addition to 5+ years focusing on IT Security Disciplines for IT education and experience requirements include but are not limited to Computer Science ComputerSystems Technology Management Information Systems Mathematics and Systems Engineering Licenses Valid State of Florida Drivers License For more details and to apply visit the South Florida Water Management District website at httpwwwSFWMDgov Req ID 916BR Location WPB Adm Headquarters (B2) EOE |
