| Senior SystemIT Engineer Kapsch TrafficCom IVHS Inc Kingston NY Kapsch TrafficCom an international supplier of superior intelligent transportation systems is seeking an Senior System IT Engineer The Senior System IT Engineer works with customer requirements engineering and software teams to design and implement toll collection and intelligent traffic systems Specific accountabilities will include Develop technical solutions that meet the system requirements Design and implement data solutions using VMware Linux and MS Windows Design and implement network solutions to support LAN WAN and remote access requirements Create detailed design documentation and drawings Implement troubleshoot and support systems including components computing platforms and network components System deployment planning and execution Specific technical skills required for this role will include Experience in specifying and designing computer based systems including servers storage and network components Deep knowledge of communications and networking including Ethernet TCPIP SNMP FC and iSCSI Knowledge of Cisco based networking solutions CCNACCNE preferred Knowledge of PC based computing and storage solutions Familiarity with the Linux and Windows environment Familiarity with VMware Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and Visio General skills required include Ability to break down complex problems Good communication skills both written and oral are required Ability to organize and handle multiple project assignments Ability to work independently or as part of a design team Detail oriented with strong people and team skills Must be creative energetic and a team player Experience with Intelligent Traffic Systems Electronic Toll Collections Systems network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark RFID camera or loop detection systems SNMP WMI WBEM and other management protocols and familiarity with VMware or other virtualization products are a desired asset The successful candidate will have a University degree in Electrical Software or System Engineering and a minimum 5 years of experience in engineering applications including system networking and software If you are an energetic teamplayer we invite you to submit resume with cover letter and salary requirements We thank all who apply but only those selected for an interview will be contacted Kapsch TrafficCom is an international supplier of superior intelligent transportation systems (ITS) and primarily supplies electronic toll collection systems With its endtoend solution portfolio Kapsch TrafficCom covers the entire value creation chain of its customers from products and systems to integration and operations as a onestop shop Kapsch TrafficCom also offers solutions for urban access management as well as for traffic safety and security Kapsch TrafficCom is an equal opportunity employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to age race creed color national origin ancestry marital status or sexual orientation gender identity or expression disability nationality or sex |
