| As the most trusted name in quality toys FisherPrice65533 has been helping to make childhood special for generations of kids While were still loved for our classics our employees talent energy and ideas have helped us keep pace with the interests and needs of todays families by adding innovative learning toys toys based on popular preschool characters awardwinning baby gear and numerous licensed childrens products to the list of FisherPrice favorites We are currently seeking a Sr Electronic Engineer for our New York City FisherPrice Office PRIMARY DUTIES Participate as a member of a worldwide product development team assisting with specificationfeature development project management and communications Assist in resolution of issues during product development Programming and circuit design of basic electronic circuits involving speech lights motors andor electromechanical feedback Own product quality drive to reduce field issues through failure analysis advocating design changes driving manufacturing controls and process improvements and ensuring adequate testing Ensure all electronic components are properly sourced Assist sourcing agents in qualification of alternate components as needed Understand all aspects of the design and drive reliability cost efficiency manufacturability Drive to reduce product cost Research alternative component sources and manufacturing processes Introduce cost improvement ideas to the design and manufacturing teams both during development and after production start Collaborate with Asia sourcing agent and engineers to ensure sourcing and manufacturing direction supports design intent and quality goals Evaluate manufacturing issues and propose solutions as requested ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES MAY INCLUDE Support the companys central electronics component cost database driving accuracy completeness and appropriateness Support systems to accurately model electronics labor costs Concept ideation using electronics knowledge to create new features or product ideas and present them to the Design organization Build or facilitate the creation of early functional models for use in development and testing This may also involve the design of circuitry and writing software Design and develop production intent circuitry and software for lowcomplexity products PCB design SKILLSKNOWLEDGE Ability to readdraw schematics preferably using Altium Ability to analyze PCB layouts for good layout and engineering practices Ability to readwrite software primarily in 6502 assembly but also in C and C++ EMC test compliance issue resolution Root cause failure analysis of electronic circuits Electronics component market knowledge Electronics prototyping techniques including handbuilding of circuits and soldering Mechanical aptitude for debug and programming of electromechanical product Excellent communication skills Strong hands on and creative problem solving skills Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment Proactive strong decisionmaker with riskassessment and contingency planning skills EDUCATIONEXPERIENCE Bachelors Degree required in Electrical Engineering 3 5 years of experience in consumer product engineering (toy or similar consumer products industry experience highly preferred FisherPrice is an Equal Opportunity Employer MFVD |
