manages plans and administers the operational and administrative activities associated with the running of the desktop and productivity areas of the Global Information Technology Group of Norgren In addition the Senior Manager Desktop Productivity will directly manage the Global Desktop Productivity employees assets and overall operations PRIMARY GOALS FOR THE FIRST 6 MONTHS IN THIS POSITION Implement global asset management Complete evaluation of mobile devices and mobile device management Implement global PC and workstation replacement program ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES To creating plans which meet the requirements of Norgren 2 Create multiyear strategy delivering better services at lower costs for Norgren 3 Manage vendor relations to ensure quality services and SLA agreements are exceeded by the vendor 4 Responsible for the formulation and realization of goals and service levels and plans as related to desktop and productivity support and operations 5 Coordinate department activities staff assignments desktop and productivity operations and support for the purpose of providing services to the company our customers and our suppliers 6 Identify opportunities to optimize return on investment efficiency reliability availability serviceability and simplicity of server and data centers 7 Collaborate with local and global stakeholders in the design of desktop and productivity solutions to meet business challenges and requirements 8 Monitor desktop and productivity usage and performance to ensure that resources are used efficiently and that the required resource usage does not exceed those available 9 Ensures best practices for service support including change incident problem and asset management policies and procedures are created and utilized without exception 10 Ensure best practices for service delivery including capacity availability and service levels and continuity management policies and procedures are created and utilized without exception 11 Manage both budget planning and monitoring activities responsible for costs associated with the operation of desktop and productivity services 12 Other duties as assigned QUALIFICATIONS EducationExperience Bachelors degree in a relevant discipline (Computer Science or Engineering) is required but equivalent experience may be considered Advanced degree is highly desirable Five years of stable professional experience in a leadership position managing Desktop and Productivity Services Global experience is highly desirable Expert knowledge of advanced desktop components productivity software desktop and printer management and IT asset management Must demonstrate exceptional communications skills appropriate for a broad range including business stakeholders 3rd party vendors offshore providers and technical staff Must demonstrate accountability sound decision making analytical thoroughness clear and concise communications and the ability to lead and mentor team members Computer Skills Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word Excel PowerPoint and Outlook) Certificates and Licenses None SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES This job has supervisory responsibilities WORK ENVIRONMENT
