| Developmental Studies Center (DSC) has been creating innovative educational programs for use in public schools across the nation for the past 25 years DSC700s mission is to help schools foster students academic social ethical and emotional development Our staff is committed to providing programs and professional development services that make a significant difference in terms of teacher practice and students learning and experience in school DSC applies research and innovation to create programs that support childhood and adolescent academic development and encourage students growth as caring principled people THE OPPORTUNITY The Learning Technology Specialist leads technology product development efforts that will fit within a larger conceptual framework developed by the Director of Technology In doing so heshe will work with multiple stakeholders to develop and document specifications communicate project progress provide user interface direction and articulate workflows that end in delivering online educational solutions on time and on budget RESPONSIBILITIES 1 Lead interdepartmental teams to plan define prototype develop and test DSCs technologyenhanced programs 2 Collaborate with other DSC staff and vendors in the design and development of prototypes and final online applications a Prepare statements of work and project specification documents b Manage schedules contracts communications and relations with internal developers external developers and vendors c Create design documents and prototypes including but not limited to workflow diagrams application navigation diagrams wireframes and mockups d Work with DSCs internal IT Program Development and Editorial staff as well as outside vendors to develop final versions of technologyenhanced programs 3 Conduct research collect input from internal and external stakeholders and report results regarding a Current and emerging K12 publishing technology standards (eg electronic file formats) b Design and technology options and their implications for development processes (eg web app development trends) c State of K12 hardware and software usage 4 Identify the affordances and challenges of potential partners technologies vendors and solutions 5 Conduct testing of design concepts prototypes and pilot versions and report results with respect to usability teaching effectiveness learning enhancement and user preferences 6 Work with other members of the IT team to deliver high quality of support services to internal and external clients 7 Manage software development projects to deliver on spec on time and on budget QUALIFICATIONS Strong understanding of fundamental programming concepts and relational databases Experience writing software design specifications and using tools to show potential interfaces and functions (eg diagrams flowcharts etc) Experience in K12 education and educational publishing Familiar with both Windows and Macintosh operating systems Demonstrated ability to productively contribute to crossfunctional teams Demonstrated ability to successfully manage the development of technology products Proficient in standard office technology tools SALARY BENEFITS DSC offers competitive salary and benefits including comprehensive medical and dentalvision insurance generous vacation and sick leave medical disability longterm disability life insurance and retirement program TO APPLY Please email your cover letter and resume learningspecdevstuorg Developmental Studies Center 2000 Embarcadero Suite 305 Oakland CA 946065300 NO CALLS PLEASE Resumes sent directly to individual staff will not be considered Developmental Studies Center is an affirmative actionequal opportunity employer For more information visit wwwdevstuorg |
