| SENIOR DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR Reports to Vice President Operations ABOUT TREND TREND (Delaware Valley Real Estate Information Network) provides superior real estate information and marketing services to over 28000 real estate professionals in the Philadelphia metropolitan region Our MLS and Public Records systems offer customized and streamlined access to more than 69000 active listings and over 48 million public records Together with timely news content friendly 7day a week live help and knowledgeable account executives TRENDs products and services are focused on the needs of our members We continually strive to deliver highquality innovative personal and fast service We accomplish these goals every day because Our employees working together toward a common goal can accomplish anything We employ leaders who embody innovation creative thinking commitment to quality good judgment taking risks and being accountable We favor ability over experience and each employee is a handson contributor We have a collaborative and creative environment that fosters enthusiasm and productivity and in turn generates quality results For more information visit wwwtrendmlscom SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITES (STRATEGY PLANNING) Assess and develop longterm strategic goals for production databases in conjunction with data owners and department managers Work with application development staff to develop database architectures coding standards and quality assurance policies and procedures Design and implement redundant systems policies and procedures for disaster recovery and data archiving to ensure effective protection and integrity of data assets Conduct research and make recommendations on database products services protocols and standards in support of procurement and development efforts SCOPE OF RESPONSIBILITES (OPERATIONAL MANAGEMENT DEVELOPMENT) Install and configure relevant software manage server organization etc Maintain all databases across both production and nonproduction environments Manage backup and recovery procedures Maintain and support complex replication topology Respond to and resolve database access and performance issues Respond to and resolve data corruption and design flaws Develop implement and maintain database change control and testing processes Monitor optimize and allocate physical data storage for database systems Plan and coordinate data migrations between systems Consult with Operations Team Lead on hardware recommendations and needs Facilitate enduser needs with appropriate database security according to best practices Build and improve new and existing data models for feature development Optimize across data object database and server levels to improve peak performance Perform database transaction and security audits Help direct BI efforts design ETL projects etc OTHER Cross train in other positions to provide coverage for illness vacations or job vacancies Available for 24x7 oncall support Available for after hours infrastructure changes Manage andor provide guidance to junior members of the team and display leadership qualities Attend training seminars and classes as required Perform other duties as required KNOWLEDGE SKILLS REQUIRED BS degree in MISCISCSE or equivalent formal training Solid understanding of the Microsoft platform including a thorough understanding of Windows Extensive professional experience with multiple subject matter areas of MS SQL Server including Experience with the database Query and Storage Engines Experience with BCP DTS Integration Services Experience with Replication Services Experience with Backup and Recovery processes Experience with the Full Text Search Engine Experience with Analysis Services Experience with Reporting Services Experience with data scrubbingcleansing and data management Thorough understanding of relational database design concepts and OLTP data modeling in relational databases Extensive knowledge of and experience with the SQL language particularly MS TransactSQL Knowledge of Business Intelligence and OLAP concepts and practices Knowledge of Disaster Recovery concepts and practices Thorough experience identifying database design issues and developing improved Normalization Indexing TSQL etc Thorough handson experience administering monitoring and tuning MS SQL Server in a 24x7 enterprise web environment Experience working closely with developers in a Software Development Life Cycle Knowledge of High Availability concepts and practices Microsoft DBA certifications Excellent verbal communication and presentation skills Solid writing skills ability to develop training aids document processes create reports etc Excellent organizational skills Work effectively without constant supervision and as a team player Solid problem solving skills Has the ability to access a high speed internet connection and a working phone line at home (not provided by TREND) |
