Job Description
| The Data Systems Administrator is responsible for providing operational database administration services to the organization Some of the primary responsibilities of this role would include owning tracking and resolving database related incidents and requests reviewing service related reports (eg database backups maintenance monitoring) on a daily basis to ensure service related issues are identified and responding to database related alerts and escalations while working with the infrastructure engineering and applications engineering teams to come up with strategic solutions and provide tactical issue resolutions Responsibilities Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the corporation Work to ensure that the associated hardware resources are allocated to the databases and ensure high availability through HA implementations and performance tuning Proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime (MS SQL Server 200520082012) Responsible for providing trend analysis to IT management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management Position Requirements Associates Degree in or MISIT or industry certification (MCTS MCITP MVP) and 3 additional years of handson experience required 3 years experience with Database Administration for MSSQL Server (2005 2008 2012) Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database problems Experience in Performance Tuning and Optimization (PTO) using native monitoring and troubleshooting tools Experience with backups restores replication and recovery models Ability to implement and support MSSQL clustering including journaling Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for MSSQL Server Experience in implementing operational automation using scripts Knowledge of indexes index management and developing statistics reporting Experience working with Windows server including Active Directory and proper disk configurations Good communication and documentation skills Salary 65000 70000 |
