| The Corporation for Enterprise Development (CFED) a 33yearold national nonprofit advances policies and programs that empower Americans to build and preserve financial assets As a leading source for policy solutions and data about household financial security CFED promotes solutions that create pathways to financial opportunity for millions of people We seek a Director of Information Technology in our Washington DC office to manage our technology portfolio and infrastructure and to partner with other senior leaders and staff to develop the organizations short and longterm technology strategies Reporting to the COO this position is an excellent opportunity for either a seniorlevel systems engineer interested in taking on more management responsibilities or an established Director looking for an organization that embraces technology change Our Director must enjoy collaborating directly with nontechnical staff guiding them through the kinds of thorough needs assessments and requirements gathering processes that will yield sustainable solutions yet also prioritize handson design maintenance and support of the organizations networks and systems Our staff thrives on collaboration intellectual curiosity an energetic entrepreneurial approach to challenges and hard work and drive toward fulfilling our mission Our successful Director must embody those values Responsibilities Lead support and conduct all facets of a high availability dualsite organization including network installation monitoring development support and maintenance desktop computing backup and storage and security and control Ensure good practice protocols in IT operations including regular patches and upgrades systems documentation security best practices systems testing process automation and assets management Ensure provision of highquality responsive enduser support serving as point of escalation for all hardware and software support issues maintain high expectations for enduser communication and issue resolution Drive forward technology initiatives in support of missionfacing priorities and internal operations ensuring that CFED maintains a robust available and scalable technology infrastructure Recommend technology strategies policies and operating procedures by auditing current environment identifying areas of risk or inefficiency and clarifying requirements and assessing external trends Develop communicate and implement project and operational work plans serve as project manager for technology initiatives ensuring timely highquality and cost effective deployments Serve as an internal consultant and thought partner to team directors engaging in collaborative needs assessments requirements gathering and evaluation of solutions report progress facilitate problem resolution and drive implementation through communication and thoughtful business process modification Develop and manage the organizations IT and capital budgets forecast requirements recommend and schedule purchases allocate expenses analyze variances and initiate corrective action as needed Manage and develop systems administrator establishing role accountabilities and clear work plans providing handson guidance and direction and encouraging ongoing professional development recommend and manage IT consultants as needed Maintain a broad current knowledge of emerging technology solutions Qualifications Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience required Seven years information technology experience required with 2 years at the project management or supervisory level proven track record of deploying technology solutions within membership advocacy or political organizations Strong technology operations and architecture background in a Windows Server environment required Advanced skills deployingusingtroubleshooting the following applications in a work setting required Microsoft Exchange Active Directory Administration VMware ESX Virtual Center TCPIP Networking and Firewall Configuration with Cisco devices SAN systems and cloud based applications and services Prior management experience preferred either with formal direct reports or informal staff guidance directionsetting and coaching Demonstrable experience selecting and managing IT vendors and consultants Effective communications skills with the capacity to convey both the possibilities and limitations of technologies to nontechnical colleagues Exemplar interpersonal and customer service skills with the ability and willingness to provide direct support to staff at all levels To apply submit your information online at httpshomeeeaseadpcomrecruitid2973361 CFED is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer We believe that diversity of background and perspective are strengths and seek to continue to grow a diverse highly committed skilled and collaborative staff |
