| The Society for Neuroscience (SfN) has an immediate opening for an SQL Developer for the position of Business Intelligence Analyst The Business Intelligence (BI) Analyst is responsible for supporting the Director Information Decision Support in the implementation of an organizationwide business intelligence system SfN is the worlds largest organization of scientists and physicians devoted to advancing understanding of the brain and nervous system A nonprofit membership organization SfN is supported by a dedicated staff at the headquarters in Washington DC We are seeking an experienced SQL Developer (BI) Analyst with the knowledge and experience to write queries and reports across multiple systems maintain data integrity standards and perform analysis across the organizations business functions and systems The BI Analyst will work closely with the Director department colleagues and the Operations Evaluation Manager to help SfN optimize business processes and data collection leverage institutional data and deliver intelligence for decision making As the BI Analyst you will create and modify queries reports and relational tables utilizing SQL and Microsoft Reporting Services Business Objects Data Analyzer and Crystal Reports and provide reporting support to organization via multiple third party systems In addition you will be responsible for data quality management and ensure data quality and accuracy within the data warehouse as well as sources systems As a member of the department you will collaborate to identify and resolve data quality problems through appropriate process design strategies as well as error detection and correction tests and procedures The selected candidate will also be a member of the team to implement Business Intelligence Systems by collaborating with internal stakeholders to develop clear business reporting requirements and assist with the translation of business requirements to technical specifications In addition you will provide support in the design and architecture of the data warehouse and data marts as well as identify opportunities for documenting data quality standards This role is for an individual who thrives in a data driven organization prepared to review and analyze data from multiple sources and comfortable communicating analysis results and making recommendations We seek candidates with the following qualifications and characteristics 4year Degree in Mathematics Statistics Finance Economics Marketing andor Business or related area of study or equivalent work experience Advanced math and statistics skills required with ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference Ability to apply concepts such as fractions percentages ratios and proportions to practical situations Ability to document specifications for business intelligence or information technology (IT) reports dashboards or other outputs 24 years of handson experience and strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Technical skills to understand the underlying business intelligence components (SQL Server DBA etc) Ability to interact with users to understand business processes and logic with effective written and oral communication skills necessary to translate business and technical information among respective groups Ability and stamina to review numbers and reports on a regular basis to spot trends and identify opportunities Experience with associations or professional societies preferred Experience with association management systems andor CRM systems preferred Experience with SharePoint a plus Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues other departments and vendors Respond positively to unexpected demands and changing priorities Qualified candidates are invited to apply Please submit your cover letter resume and salary requirements via the website at httpsfncareersapplicantprocomjobs SfN is an EEOAA employer |
