Job Description
| Seeking a customerfocused individual with complex programming capabilities and excellent leadership and communication skills to join our busy Department of IT Ideal candidate will have experience working in a larger complex technical environment Reporting to our Director Division of Applications Development and Support this individual will manage the design development testing of crossfunctional multiplatform software applications to support business operations Key responsibilities include review and analyze applications effectiveness and efficiency and develop strategies for improving these systems and increasing delivery capacity analyze define and document requirements lead and provide technical guidance and direction to the application development team ensure effective collaboration between application development team and users to understand scope of work priorities and requirements assist project managers with work effort estimates and development of project plan details perform applications programming activities including coding testing debugging documentation and modification and ensure compliance with established development methodology Must have Bachelors Degree in computer science or an equivalent combination of relevant educationcertifications and work experience At least 5 years experience in software development andor programming design and systems management required including both hands on experience and as a technical lead or supervisor Must be able to perform complex applications programming effectively lead a technical team have initiative to move projects forward and serve as an effective liaison between technical team and users Must have experience with full development life cycle including requirements gathering design and testing A deep understanding of programming languages and knowledge of Web technologies essential including NET ASPNET VBNET SSL HTTP MS SQL MSSSIR MS SSRS Object Oriented design principals C HTML and XMLXSL Experience with Web technologies (SharePoint CSS Java) and Cold Fusion preferred Some evening and weekend work may be required The AAP offers an excellent work environment competitive salary and a very comprehensive benefits package Additionally we are an Equal Opportunity Employer (MFDV) that values the strength diversity brings to our workplace As a reaffirmation to our employeefocused culture since 2005 the AAP has been named one of the 101 Best and Brightest Companies to Work for in the Chicagoland area Interested candidates should reference position HRD676 and provide salary requirements when sending submissions to American Academy of Pediatrics 141 Northwest Point Blvd Elk Grove Village Illinois 60007 EMAIL resumesaaporg FAX 8472285099 wwwaaporg |
