| Position Summary The Applications Developer provides development services and support for a specific line of business application This is a handson position involving applications development database management Primarily this entails designing building testing and implementing and supporting interactive web applications based upon SQL databases Responsibilities Duties include but are not limited to Participates in the design and scope Takes lead in the development integration production delivery of datadriven applications Codes tests debugs and supports existing webbased applications Creates updates and troubleshoots SQL Server 2008 databases related objects Maintains code under sourcecontrol and ensures appropriate change controls Conducts research into current and emerging technologies and issues Trains internal staff to support andor use the applications developed Interface with business users assess customer requirements develop creative solutions and evaluate alternatives Document new development and enhancements to existing applications and systems Provide input for estimation of budgets and time lines and for successful and timely completion of projects Develop detailed procedural documentation and training materials Follow SDLC methodology to ensure delivery of a quality product Gather and document requirements and create and document detailed development specifications Develop unit test cases Document new development and enhancements to existing applications and systems Prepares and maintains complete programming specifications functional design and both high and detail level technical design documents Required Education Skills Experience Candidate must be a selfstarter motivated innovative capable of handling a team providing technical solutions A Bachelors degree in a technical major 2+ years relevant work experience Handson experience using Microsoft Visual Studio Net HTML Telerik Reporting SQL Thorough understanding of Internet programming specifically with XML CSS PHP Javascript Knowledge of website application development methodologies and best practices 2+ years of experience in Net Applications development 2+ years of experience on SQL Server 2008 Must have excellent software design and documentation skills Must be able to work both independently and in teamoriented collaborative environment Must have ability to communicate effectively with nontechnical staff from various backgrounds Must be able to manage multiple tasks concurrently Demonstrate problem solving abilities Strong verbal written and organizational skills The ability to perform in a dynamic and processimproving environment |
