| IT Specialist Television Engineer Looking for a selfstarter who can start from the ground up and handle all aspects of IT assignments and have technical knowhow of Television operations MUST BE KNOWLEDGEABLE OF TV OPERATIONS AND TELEVISION BROADCAST EQUIPMENT This position assists the daily news show personnel with technical support of desktop computers servers network applications and related technology used to operate the show Support includes specification installation and repair of computer systems and peripherals within established standards and guidelines Activities require interaction with show personnel as well as with other members of the staff to define requirements and deliver against project and support goals The position provides oneonone consultancy to end users as required The employee in this position also assists in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment The positions responsibilities require independent analyses effective communication and problem solving skills Work is performed with little supervision and requires initiative and good judgment Duties of the Job Assist personnel with the installation configuration and ongoing usability of desktop computers peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines Work with vendors to resolve technical problems as necessary Work with numerous hardware software and network products in a multilayered distributed computing environment Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated file servers email servers Internet news management broadcast servers and business systems Ensure all PCs servers laptops are patched with latest approved security updates and that all Corp connected computerdevices are running the approved Antivirus software and that it is up to date with signatures for detection Orient staff on use of hardware and software as needed Ensure Staff and all appropriate personnel are effectively communicated to about all maintenance outages and upgrades Recommends and or performs upgrades on systems to ensure reliability performance and longevity Assist with the procurement of hardware and software Maintain departmental budget capital and expense always striving to keep costs down Maintain LAN infrastructure Maintain records audits trails and documentation to support policy and procedure and contribute to the general operating efficiency of the job Develop procedures andor processes to manage workload Participate in corporate governance programs as required by policy Assist with support and deployment of telecom infrastructure Operate install and maintain all types of broadcast studio field and editing equipment Must be knowledgeable of networked PC and Apple computer systems Minimum 5 years experience in maintaining all types of broadcast equipment Completion of electronics technical school required In depth technical familiarity on the deployment support and effective use of standard technologies including but not limited to Technical Microsoft Windows XP Windows 7 Office 2003 2010 (Word Excel Outlook PowerPoint) Adobe systems System and component for Intel based workstations and laptop computers HP Rack bases servers and systems Basic understanding of SOX compliance procedures Apple Mac and basic of Graphics software Active Directory servers DNS Wins Domain controllers WSUS update server Microsoft Exchange 20032010 Server Windows server 2003 2008 Backup software (Netbackup BackupExec etc) HP Sure Store Backup systems (Tape Drives SCSI devices) Network printers fax machines scanners copiers and multifunctiondevices Diagnostic tools for PCs and networks Ethernet and TCPIP Understanding of Level 2 and 3 networking principles in a switched environment Cisco Switches and routers ( Basic use of Cisco IOS commands and functions) Principles of firewalls Solid understanding of basic network security principles and processes Solid Understanding of Ghost images and Multicast computer imaging for PCServer deployment Conceptual Ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently Able to prioritize work with minimal supervision Ability to improve service by updating process and procedures as needed Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Good interpersonal skills Well organized and methodical Show initiative and followup to insure successful results Flexible and agile to respond to changes in a dynamic environment |
