| PROGRAM DESCRIPTION The Cancer Human Biobank (caHUB) program managed by the NCI Office of Biospecimen and Biorepository Research (OBBR) is developing a set of research and biobanking projects that are determining the link between biospecimen quality and research variables JOB DESCRIPTION SAICFrederick is seeking a talented web application developer to join the caHUB initiative The position requires analyzing complex requirements from scientists and doctors and creating software solutions that work within an established and distributed software architecture that leverages modern technologies frameworks and principles BASIC QUALIFICATIONS Possession of a Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Systems Bioinformatics or equivalent from an accredited collegeuniversity or four (4) years related experience in lieu of degree Foreign degrees must be evaluated for US equivalency In addition to education requirements a minimum of six (6) years of experience with one of the following technology stacksframeworks Groovy Grails ANDOR J2EE Java Spring JSP JSF ANDOR Python Django Demonstrate enterpriselevel development experience in the following MVC frameworks Hibernate OR other ORM technologies real world object oriented programming experience design patterns experience with SQL and working with databases in missioncritical environments Web service development and testing is a huge plus Must have strong communication (written and verbal) and organizational skills and experience in formulating and implementing IT solutions to meet business requirements Must be familiar with implementation and integration of software within sites supporting production operations Ability to work effectively with a team on complex projects with strict requirements yet take ownership and work independently on large portions of a project with little supervision This position is subject to obtaining a Public Trust Clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Agile development web services (REST or SOAP) data warehousing automated reporting Google Charts API JUnit modern UI development experience (AJAX JSON JavaScript jQuery CSS CSS box model) Linux command line experience eXist XML or NoSQL databases Math and statistical skills a plus Experience with caHUB informatics systems a plus Knowledge and experience in sharing patientrelevant information electronically so that all HIPAA compliant regulations and procedures for data sharing are adhered knowledge of various LIMS biobanking systems and other biobanking related relevant tools and technologies a plus |
