student achievement Responsibilities Under general direction of the Senior Director of Information Systems and as a member of the IT Leadership Team the Director of Web Services provides leadership and handson management for the web portal and mobile technologies used at Cal State Northridge The position will manage and coordinate the people products and processes associated with the CSUN Drupal web environment known as WebOne which includes responsibility for overseeing the daily operations of the IT Web Services team and coordinating the implementation and ongoing support of the University web environment working closely with web liaisons web content owners and web developers throughout the university This position maintains the basic core services and support around the University web presence including management of the technical web environment and coordination of the transition of our campus administrative website from the legacy web environment into WebOne The position will also manage the ongoing development and support of the CSUN portal known as myNorthridge and develop and maintain mobile applications used by students faculty and staff Is responsible for establishing and implementing policies procedures and projects that reflect the mission and goals of this unit as well as the entire Information Technology division and CSUN In addition the Director provides broad leadership to continually extend and improve the service levels of IT for the CSUN students faculty and staff assist the University community to leverage technology in their pursuit of student education and University business cultivate professional development within IT by providing opportunities for training in technical skills leadership project management and creative problem solving monitor technology trends in the higher education industry as well as the world at large and participate in meaningful exchange of ideas and information with other institutions to improve and expand the use of technology at CSUN Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications Bachelors degree from a four year college or university is required Masters degree strongly preferred Equivalent to six years of progressively responsible professional experience required with five of the six years managing a web or application development team Management of a Drupal web environment and experience in mobile development strongly preferred Higher Education experience strongly preferred Knowledge Specialized Skills and Abilities Knowledge of budget planning and management project management presentations and training organizational development and change management Extensive knowledge of web development tools Strong interpersonal verbal and written communication skills to work effectively with a wide variety of internal and external resources Strong leadership skills with a proven track record of building and leading teams Strong organizational and supervisory skills Strong decision making skills project management skills and ability to work under pressure Expertise in office productivity software including MS Office email and calendaring software Pay Benefits Work
