| The Program Manager is responsible for continual improvement of IT project management allocating resources for planning of project lifecycle deployment and defining project implementation This individual will provide strategic and tactical advice on project and program planning to Senior Executives ensuring this information is in alignment with business goals and strategic initiatives Ideal candidate will possess tenured experience in IT focused Project Management roles and a strong ability to ensure technology projects adhere to the best practices and standard approaches for IT deployments and project management of a multidepartment organization Tracking and measuring programproject status and adherence to key deliverable milestones Providing weekly updates on program portfolio health to senior management highlighting key unmitigated risks or issues identified by individual programproject managers that need management attention Monitor and challenge Project Managers Managers and Directors to continually improve the accuracy of their financial forecasts programproject milestonesschedules and resource planning based on master programproject schedule Ownership continuous improvement of and providing guidance training and mentoring to IT Project Managers on different project management methodologies system development lifecycle (SDLC) and tools including but not limited to Waterfall Agile etc Support different business groups as required to provide projectprogram status and partner with them to highlight issues needing attention from senior leadership team or broader business community Participate in business case and proposal development to insure integration between the project effort and other functional areas Develop and deploys PMO communication plans methods and tools throughout the organization including executive steering committees Provide portfolio project rationalization guidance based on resource constraints (eg financial time staff and skills) business goals and initiatives Ensure sound financial forecasts and resource plans are in place for each project and partners with Finance to measure program financial health Oversee the development of project program plans budgets and resources requirements and facilitate the resolution of multiproject resources and integration conflicts Works with senior managers to provide strategic and tactical advice on program project planning and execution and to identify and mitigate potential scheduling conflicts and risks to the production environment Facilitates approval for scope and objectives schedule and resources roles and responsibilities of all projects Conducts pre post implementation project reviews to ensure project deliverables and quality deliverables are met according to the business requirements sustaining support and documentincorporate lessons learned Education BS in Computer Science or other related field Ongoing education in project management required including PMP certification preferred Experience 10+ years delivering in large complex IT environments including portfolio project management and business analysis Strong ability to collaborate with corporate senior leadership senior technologists and business stakeholders to align business requirements to IT strategy Excellent written and verbal communications skills including superior presentation skills for all levels of the organization (Sr Executive to operational) Must have the ability to produce exceptional executive and operational level documents and presentations without assistance from others Experience in the use of Change Management methodology process measurement and management reporting Knowledge in the use of MS Project and Project Server Proven analytical and problem solving abilities enabling proactive business intelligence and decisions Ability to facilitate process design workshops within business and IT organizations Strong interpersonal and business relationship skills with ability to influence people at all levels within the organization as well as collaboration with directors managers business area subject matter experts consultants and a variety of internal and external stakeholders AMNs Total Rewards package includes more than just a paycheckAt the beautiful Corporate Headquarters in San Diego (Del Mar) you will have free access to an onsite gym a partially subsidized caf with a Starbucks dry clean delivery Corporate Library and employee discounts for many attractions throughout San Diego AMN offers a competitive package on Medical Dental Vision and 401K with a match Experience the AMN Difference Respect9679 Passion 9679 Continuous Improvement 9679 Trust 9679Customer Focus 9679 Innovation We are an Affirmative Action Employer EE0 MFDV We encourage minority and female applicants to apply |
