| 50 CAMPUS SECURITY COORDINATION This position will develop implement and oversee a campuswide security program that sustains the universitys academic research and public service mission in a complex distributed computing environment Providing leadership to the campus the Security Officer will assume overall responsibility for developing and maintaining an effective information security roadmap and ensuring the security of computing systems networks and data These responsibilities include Formulate and promulgate campus standards for security and review relevant policies and procedures in the context of these standards Provide oversight of university security policies working closely with the Sacramento campus as well as contributing to a UCwide vision for common policies effective practices and servicesharing Working closely with operational IT leaders recommend and implement technology architectures and programs to protect the privacy and security of the university data network and electronic systems and data Participate in the development and review of IT security controls in campus information systems including security privacy and risk assessments of ITrelated services Guide the development and management of campus technology programs and serves as a member of IT leadership forums 15 MANAGE IET SECURITY TEAM This position leads directs and assumes programmatic responsibility for the IET Security team providing mission critical security services to the campus that include network scanning forensics intrusion detection notification and prevention code security scanning disk encryption and distributed authentication Provide leadership and vision in the establishment of strategic goals and plans for the IET Security team Direct the unit budget to achieve goals Assure effective and appropriate management of staff 10 FUNCTIONAL OVERSIGHT OF THE UCDHS IT SECURITY MANAGER Provides highlevel monitoring and guidance of the UCDHS information security program and promote coordination between campus and UCDHS security programs Advise the UCDHS Chief Information Officer on information security projects and effective practices 25 CAMPUS ELECTRONIC INFORMATION RESOURCES SECURITY MANAGEMENT Partner with other administrative and departmental officials in addressing information security risk management issues including identifying factors that put security and privacy strategies at risk and developing responses to manage risk Develop programs to educate advise and train faculty staff and students on approaches for ensuring the security of university networks systems and data Provide strategic and tactical input to campus emergency response and disaster recovery planning activities Direct the resolution of serious information security breaches including coordination with the UC security response group and campus multiagency Incident Response Team Communicate with all levels of the university and with external public media representatives on information security incidents issues and programs at UC Davis Represent campus administrators in the oversight of investigations concerning allegations of improper activities including the misuse of university resources research misconduct and violation of university policy or law Represent campus leadership at meetings with peer institutions and international and regional conferences regarding campus systemwide national and international security initiatives Guide campus senior administrators and program managers on information privacy issues policy legislation regulations and security technology deployment Participate in the development and implementation of systemwide compliance programs to meet state and federal requirements Requisition 03008936 |
