| Job Description The Systems Engineer Level 3 is functions as the primary liaison between support staff and management at the central office and remote locations with technical support of servers network databases and related technology Support includes specifications installation and testing of computer systems and peripherals within established guidelines Incumbent will also assist in the maintenance and testing of network servers and associated equipment Assist staff with the installation configuration and ongoing usability of servers desktop computers peripheral equipment and software Mentor lower Tier support staff and call center representatives Work with vendor support contacts to resolve technical problems with desktopserver computing equipment and software Ensure servers interface with necessary systems including client systems desktops and vendor applications Assist in the strategy monitoring efficiency and implementation of system architecture and backup technologies Develop a library of procedures related to the configuration and administration of computers by department (eg Accounting computer image Clinic clerical computer image etc) Coordinate with IT staff to procure hardware and software Assess functional needs to determine specifications for purchases and configuration Desired Skills Experience Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field 7 to 10+ years experience supporting Windows Desktops Servers and complex networking Excellent comprehension of computer technology protocols and processes Strong knowledge of virtualized platforms and enterprise class systems including VMWare Competancy with Virtual Private Network (Juniper Netscreen devices are a plus) Proven competency with Active Directory policies and Windows architecture Experience managing IT staff in mission critical environments Proven experience troubleshooting complex network hardware software printing and fax issues Strong commitment to customer service Networking andor Server Platform certification a plus Exceptional analytical conceptual and problemsolving abilities Proven planning and organizational skills Ability to work within a teambased environment Exceptional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills |
