Job Description

Senior Technical Solution Engineer Job Description My client is seeking a skilled and motivated Senior Technical Solution Engineer to produce a variety of technical sales tools and customerfacing product materials to support their roadmap and business development efforts and to conduct a variety of technical marketing activities that enable continued customer acquisition greater market penetration and stronger partner references Responsibilities Write highlevel and lowlevel competitive analyses including SWOT analysis Gather information about competitive products through handson evaluation webbased research and solicitation of business partners and customers Write technical briefs that explain how specific technologies (eg threat detection and mitigation) work use cases and examples of how to configure our product to meet the use cases Write solution briefs that describe how their products can solve specific problems for example PCI compliance FISMA compliance network access control in a healthcare environment Produce sales tools such as PowerPoint slides RFP templates evaluation checklists reviewers guide ROI calculators product recommender wizards (for web site lead generation) etc Build out business cases marketing tools and functional requirements to fortify product value within vertical markets Create test and deliver policies remediation scripts and reports within the product to the field in order to facilitate sales and business development opportunities Augments demonstration scripts and tools Conduct product demos for marketing purposes (eg product reviews trade shows) Produce product demo videos that highlight specific aspects of our products Develop technical sales training materials to maximize sales success and revenue Speak at participate on webcasts trade conferences partner analyst and corporate events as a product and technology evangelist Track and help support network and security integration and strategic alliances working with business development and product management Support social media marketing tasks assist in the creation of content for companys blog participate in online technical discussion forums (eg Cisco LinkedIn) and participate in companys technology forum Collaborate with system engineers technical support customers and partners and conduct market and competitive research to identify define and share product function enhancement and requirements Support roadmap development with product management and track delivery of requirements against roadmap commitments Be the technical liaison to support systems engineering product management and development Generally support the marketing organization Qualifications Knowledge of enterprise IT and network security products and markets such as firewall VPN IPS NAC Technical ability to install and operate IT infrastructure products such as a switchrouter firewall VPN RADUIS NAC VMware etc Problem solving attitude including the ability to get things done when resources and information appear to be lacking Strong writing and verbal skills skilled in PowerPoint and Visio EducationExperience A minimum of 5 years technical product marketing or management experience 7+ years experience in product marketing systems engineer field support or operating network infrastructure or security products or services 2+ years working successfully in a fast paced small company (under 300 employees) Preferred location Cupertino (else must be onsite at HQ 3 daysmo) Amount of Travel 1020 (outside of travel to HQ if remote) Measurement This position will be measured primarily on meeting quarterly deliverable objectives
