| Meet Virgin America Virgin America is a brand new airline dedicated to making flying good again Virgin America incorporates the Virgin Brands worldrenowned customer focus and distinctive style to create a highvalue lowfare airline thats reinventing domestic flying through awardwinning service and innovative amenities Are you Virgin enough If you have the thirst and creativity to make this the most wowed airline in the sky then we promise to make this a Company where inspired people like you will always love to work Main Areas of Responsibility Seniorlevel systems administration functions for RHEL5Centos Maintaining core systems on the Linux platform including Web Mail DNS Proxy Radius and Load Balancers Establishing and managing development environments for IT software developers including creation of environments and installation of software Establishing and monitoring backup and recovery systems Rapidly scale systems to meet demand Monitor system stability and performance Configure system and network parameters 4+years experience in a 247 datacenter environment Professional Experience and Education Required Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related discipline 5+ years of building managing and responding to monitoring systems measuring critical system performance 3+ years in configuring and maintaining a Postfix environment 3+ years with Perl or shell scripting 3+ years building and managing loadbalanced web server clusters using LAMP 3+ years with backup and recovery at an enterpriselevel including tar afio ssh and scp 3+ years of disk management experience with Linux LVM 2+ years of virtualization with VMWare products Advanced System Security knowledge and experience Strong procedural and architectural documentation skills Flexible adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic fastpaced environment Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management 8+ years of system administration experience on a Unix platform Experience with Tomcat and JAVA platforms Additional Skills Capable of mentoring junior engineers and delegating tasks effectively Exhibits strong leadership qualities Capable of executing efficiently meeting deadlines and focusing on specific goals LDAPActive directory experience is a plus Knowledge and understanding of large scale network storage concepts architecture operations best practices ILMHSM concepts and best practices network file access using NFS and CIFS protocols enterprise data backup software Experience configuring and maintaining Cacti Nagios Subversion a plus |
