| SAGE Publications a leading academic and professional publisher of books journals and electronic media located in Thousand Oaks California with offices in London India Singapore and Washington DC is currently seeking a Senior Business Analyst The Information Technology Department at SAGE is looking to add a Sr Business Analyst to our team that will provide comprehensive service to our internal customers Our Sr Business Analyst will serve as a liaison between the business community and the IT organization to provide technical solutions to meet user needs This position is responsible for the planning conducting and directing the analysis of complex business problems to be solved with automated systems The ideal candidate will have strong Business Analysid skills and can own the requirements gathering process and translation into detailed system specifications Job Responsibilities Consult with business to develop understanding of business needs and the priority of those needs Analyze and document the business requirements and determine the impact of those requirements for various internal business departments Assist in continuous improvement efforts to enhance system performance and to provide enhanced functionality Participate in all phases of the software development life cycle proposal planning project initiation and planning requirements design configuration testing implementation and ongoing support Provide process flow input to IT staff (development and quality assurance) for the implementation of new systemssolutions and enhancements Translate moderate level business requirements into functional specifications for the IT organization and manage changes to such specifications Includes analysis of business and user needs documenting requirements and revising existing system logic difficulties as necessary Write requirement documentation including use cases user scenarios business requirements wireframes and mockups process flow diagrams Educate the IT organization on the direction of the business Negotiate agreements and commitments by facilitating communication between business units and IT from initial requirements to final implementation Provide consultation to business users in the area of automated systems Assist the business and IT with the selection of technology solutions Qualifications Include but not limited to the following Bachelor degree from fouryear college or university or equivalent work experience 5+ years of relevant technical or business work experience and in business analysis Experience in working on small to medium sized IT projects with a variety of business and IT groups Ability to communicate effectively with both business end users and IT technical staff Possess an understanding of technological trends and uses this knowledge to bring solutions to business units supported to enhance the enterprises competitive edge Experience with publishing andor sales is a plus either on business side or on IT side Experience with process improvement methodologies Ability to work independently within a teamoriented environment Familiarity with relational database design and data modeling concepts preferred Good organization research and troubleshooting skills Ability to learn new skills technologies methods and procedures quickly and effectively Demonstrated ability to creatively solve problems Must be able to work in a changing environment SAGE offers a comprehensive competitive salary collegial business casual work environment and exceptional benefits package Qualified candidates kindly email their resume and cover letter to httpwwwsagepublicationscomcareers EEO MFDV |
