| Senior and Junior Level PHP Developers (PHPCakePHPHTML5JS) We are growing Join a team of 8 rockstar developers who support a company of over 60 people with industryleading web applications in areas of continuing education candidate screening job postings content management and much more ABOUT OUR COMPANY We are fastpaced nimble and laugh a lot We all work from home offices in various locations across the country We are dynamic engaged highly motivated and highly skilled We are passionate about our work and our professions ABOUT THE TEAM Our meetings are filled with sarcasm laughter and movie quotes We share code on github whenever able and we try to contribute back to the open source community on whose shoulders we stand Though we are virtual we communicate a lot and have a tightknit group We dont pair most of the time but we collaborate a fair amount and want to start pairing more We have worked with the CakeDC core group and keep up to date via continuing education conferences etc Travel is required for an annual company meeting and may be required once or twice per year for team or project meetings ABOUT THE POSITION We are seeking innovative and engaged Senior (Ninja) and Juniorlevel (Intermediate) PHP developers who are motivated creative and fun to assist in developing our custom CakePHP web applications Full Time 8a5p in your time zone Work from your home office Company provided MacBook Pro Internet connection etc Must be located in the United States and be legally eligible to work for us ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Both Senior and Junior level positions are responsible for the following Minor and major application feature development Assist stakeholders in developing feature specifications Plan code and deploy new featuresapplicationsprojectsmodulesplugins Troubleshoot application bugs and determine resolutions Optimize and refactor existing code to improve performance and reliability httpgooglKp3W3 Suggest improvements security needs best practices etc (your voice will be heard) REQUIREMENTS Selfmanagement and time management are critical in this role Without out it you will not be successful Other requirements include You will telecommute from your home office full time We offer semiflexible hours and require some on call Have your own home office free of distractions with a highspeed Internet connection There is direct project oversight but you are expected to take ownership of your work and your projects establish deadlines and communicate progress proactively Fast and eager to research and learn in a selfdirected way (always improving) Experience with PHP CakePHP HTML5 SASS CSS SEO best practices and general knowledge a plus Highly attentive to details able to cross all the ts and dot all the is and help reviewfix others A communication pro must be able to explain technical issues to a nontechnical person pleasantly (we are always on Skype with stakeholders) Easy going fun and a team player must be able to comprehend highlyadvanced forms of sarcasm Working knowledge of xkcd comic strip or similar is useful but not required We prefer a greatinterestedexcited programmer with less experience to an unmotivated or unengaged programmer with tons of experience ABOUT OUR TECHNOLOGY We use a widevariety of modern languages development tools applications and operating systems You will use them all here LANGUAGES PHP5 CakePHP MVC Framework 13 2x (loosely based on Rails) Javascript JQuery (AJAX) HTML5 CSS (div layouts browser compatibility accessibility SEO structure speed optimizations are all a must) Twitter Bootstrap CSS SASS Git MySQL Bash Shell Scripting PERL Python Unit Testing Test Driven Development APPLICATIONS nginx PHP5 + FPM (xcache xdebug curl etc) MySQL 5 Adobe Connect Pro All major browsers (no IE6 support yay) Various other business applications OPERATING SYSTEMS Ubuntu Server CentOS 5 OSX HOW TO JOIN OUR TEAM Do you have the skills to make a difference at our company Does it sound like a place where you can grow your career make a difference and take your skills to the next level We think so include cover letter resume and code samples (links to github etc are strongly encouraged) include the word Muffin somewhere in your email (to filter out bots it will not be read without this term) |
