San Francisco Health Plan is a progressive community county health plan designed by and for the people of San Francisco Our mission is to provide affordable quality health care to the residents of San Francisco We are a fastpaced teamoriented organization that is rapidly growing We are ambitious in our pursuits passionate about our mission and creative in our execution We encourage professional growth and development by exposing team members to all aspects of the organization We offer competitive salaries and generous benefits packages For more information visit us on the web at wwwsfhporg POSITION SUMMARY The incumbent in this position is responsible for the data integrity of San Francisco Health Plans Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) by performing regular audits of data in the core system along with audits of the data sources going into and out of EDW The ITS Data Analyst will perform overall data analysis to ensure the highest data quality is collected and stored in EDW and work closely with colleagues to resolve identified data integrity issues ESSENTIAL DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES Perform problem investigation evaluation and recommendations of claimsencounter files by trading partners Work closely with colleagues to identify data related problems and solve discrepancies or data integrity issues Perform overall data analysis of inbound data into EDW including provider members and claimsencounters for various data sources ie files SFHP transaction systems including but not limited to SFHPs managed health care system QNXT Assist in data analysis in support of prototyping cannedscheduled reportsextracts Perform ad hoc analysis on health care operations data including QNXT and EDW Solves moderately complex problems andor conducts moderately complex analyses Work with business owners and IT resources to define data and document mapping rules Proactively monitor source system changes for data impacts and communicate resulting data warehouse modifications Work with ETL Developers to build or enhance data loads extracts Serve as QA resource as needed on projects pertaining to data flowing into and out of EDW Build analysis and monitoring processes as needed Assist with documenting requirements for improved automation as needed Communicate data enhancement needs with management ETL developers and report developers Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned INDIVIDUAL CONTRIBUTOR EXPECTATIONS Understands and supports the SFHP mission and its overarching business goals and objectives Acts with integrity honesty and fairness remaining mindful of the duty of trust SFHP has to it employees and to its providers employers and members Accepts and adapts to changes in SFHP policy practice procedures quickly and positively and proactively supports hisher colleagues in adapting to changes in the workplace Contributes actively and effectively to team discussions sharing hisher knowledge and expertise willingly and collaboratively Implements monitors utilizes supports and communicates agreed upon departmental performance competencies metrics Identifies business process improvements that are aligned with and supportive of SFHP business goals and objectives Provides thoughtful analyses and recommendations Models professional behaviorconduct that remains in concert with the SFHP culture and business values CORE COMPETENCIES KNOWLEDGE SKILL REQUIREMENTS Strong analytical skills and problem solving skills with the ability to formulate and communicate recommendations for improvement Strong SQL and MS Excel skills to support data analysis on a daily basis Familiarity with process design and documentation methodologies and design and production of quality deliverables process and use case modeling business case development Understanding of information systems business processes the key drivers andor measures of success for the healthcare industry particularly the Payor market managed care and Statesponsored programs Ability to produce accurate and precise work detect discrepancies and resolve discrepancies all while meeting deadlines Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team Strong organization time management and multitasking abilities EDUCATION EXPERIENCE TRAINING REQUIRED A degree from a fouryear college (e g BS) which may be substituted with equivalent work experience Prior experience at a healthcare organization particularly at a managed health plan Minimum 3 years of experience as a Data Analyst in a healthcare environment using SQL Please apply directly through our Career Page at httpwwwsfhporg
