| Business Analyst I or II THIS POSITION WILL CLOSE ON December 28 2012 450175 644900 per month FullTime position available MF 8am to 5pm The City of Arlington IT Department is accepting applications for Business Analyst I andor Business Analyst II Under general direction from the IT Manager provides IT business analysis services to assigned departments within the City of Arlington TX ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS 1Works with business process owners and various stakeholders to elicit and document requirements using established methods and tools for new andor existing technology initiatives 2Evaluates information gathered from multiple sources reconciles conflicts decomposes highlevel information into details consolidates lowlevel information to a general understanding and distinguishes user requests from the underlying true needs 3Proactively communicates and collaborates with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and to deliver business analyst artifacts as needed Coordinates and communicates with stakeholders management staff and vendor staff on project issues and status MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Knowledge of business process mapping or reengineering Knowledge of Project Management (Limited) Manage initiatives or projects of smaller scope with responsibility for meeting established objectives and completing work in accordance with an established project plan Provides project documentation as applicable (eg Charter Requirements) Knowledge of general information technology disciplines Ability to participate in the implementation of technical solutions Ability to interpret customer business needs and translate them into application and operational requirements Ability to actively listen and interface with both technical and nontechnical personnel Ability to research analyze and evaluate new information technology methods and techniques Ability to interpret and apply Federal State and local policies laws and regulations Qualifying Education and Experience Bachelors Degree in Business Computer Science Public Admin or related field Six Sigma Green Belt required Texas Drivers License class Crequired Six Sigma Black Belt preferred Preemployment testing includes CJIS background City background check Motor Vehicle DrugAlcohol Business Analyst I 3 years of business analyst experience within an IT function Business Analyst II 5 years of business analyst experience within an IT function Six Sigma Black Belt preferred For more information and to apply please visit wwwarlingtontxgov The City of Arlington is proud to be an EOE Reasonable accommodations available upon request |
