DRN is looking for a Network Analyst This position will be headquartered in Ellendale ND Regular work hours are Monday through Friday 8 am to 5 pm Night and weekend work may be required as the business need dictates along with an oncall rotation schedule POSITION OVERVIEW Dickey Rural Networks (DRN) seeks an experienced fulltime Network Analyst to serve our internal and external customers The position is a great opportunity for a selfmotivated person to represent DRN at client sites working directly with clients provide IT Solutions and meet all IT needs The Network Analyst is responsible for all onsite service and support needs for our customers This relates to all technology to include workstations servers printers networks and vendor specific hardware and software The Network Analyst will Analyze design install configure monitor maintain and repair all server systems and network devices including SAN thin clients printers and handheld computers to ensure optimum operation Provide IT support relating to technical issues involving Microsofts core business applications as well as virtual environments built on Citrix Microsoft and VMware Provide support for Microsoft related technologies Windows Server Exchange Active directory etc Implement DRN Backup product and disaster recovery solutions Perform server maintenance such as patching upgrading rebooting active directory maintenance security permissions and other related server activities Work closely with TAGIS team members providing assistance where needed Perform network and general data center maintenance Research and analyze new software solutions as needed Provide internal second and third level support for all DRN employees ISP duties maintain servers provide support to ISP users track and locate spammers and take appropriate actions when accounts are compromised Track and maintain hardware and software licensing as well as ensuring continuity of software support contracts Enforce security policy in daily activities as it relates to the IS teams functions Document IT processes and information as implemented REQUIREMENTS BS in Computer Science or related computer degree Plus 5 years of working experience in a Network and Server environment and also meets the qualifications below QUALIFICATIONS Applicant must have working experience in the following areas server maintenance (designing configuring patching upgrading installation troubleshooting) monitoring of networks active directory maintenance security permissions backup of configuration files IT documentation monitoring and enforcement of security policies and tracking and maintaining hardware and software licensing and internal external IT support Applicant must possess ability to successfully research and analytically problem solve Qualified applicants should possess working experience in several of the following technologies Administration of a Microsoft 20032008 Windows Network Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory clustering Exchange Server IIS Sharepoint server SQL Server System Center Configuration Manager Terminal Services or equivalent technologies (latest version experience for each technology a plus) Familiarity of Fiber channel networking Understanding of virtualization VMware experience Experience with SAN architecture Cisco product knowledge Familiarity of Linux server operating systems including Redhat Enterprise Linux Ubuntu Debian or other common distributions Knowledge of the following protocolsstandards SMTP POP FTP TFTP NFS CIFS DNS DHCP IPv4 and IPv6 ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Improve customer service perception and satisfaction Ability to work in a team and communicate effectively Communicate to customers keeping them informed of progress notifying them of impending changes or agreed outages etc Develop indepth knowledge of the service catalog and how it relates to customers needs Document internal processes and procedures related to duties and responsibilities Review IT publications and online materials to remain up to date with current and future technologies emerging in the industry This position will require the ability to work calmly in a high pressure work environment and the ability to maintain composure during a network crisis To perform this job successfully an individual must be able to perform each
