QA Manager will be responsible for building and managing the Education Elements QA team and for establishing and managing all of the companys QA processes As an ace QA Manager you will bring balance to our dynamic agile environment full of smart developers Your team will be the hub that makes sure everything ties together from individual specs to looking at the usability of the entire product We want a smart quick and creative manager who can motivate the QA team to dig deep into the system and find various ways to improve it We want you and your team to partner with and assist developers in their quality goals producing rocksolid code The ideal candidate will be highly collaborative participate in recurring scrum meetings They will be able to see the areas that contain repetitive tasks and risks and automate testing for those areas Responsibilities Design create and implement an extensible scalable automated testing framework Maintain a roadmap for QA automation tools and test development Champion QA initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the QA team and contribute improvements to the complete software release cycle Create measurable test metrics based on requirement specifications and technical design documents and produce product quality reports Develop and communicate QA Team vision plans status issues and activities Prioritize and plan quality control activities Provide thought leadership and implement improvements in testing methodologies tools and processes including the introduction of quality control measures at ALL points of the development process Create and execute manual test cases that cover endtoend testing when needed Define test case writing procedures and standards and review test cases to ensure clarity accuracy and efficacy Create and review test plans for any and all features in the product Provide risk assessment for release planning and contribute to bug triage Deploy the product in a variety of test configurations Define and implement processes and procedures for functional load performance and stress tests Find creative ways to test the product with available resources Initiate new review existing for improvement and lead all automation initiatives Work closely with Client Support to ensure reported issues are included in test case coverage Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to accomplish QA and company goals In collaboration with Product Engineering and Professional Services develop manual and automated test solutions that are usercentric and scenariobased Utilize and promote QA best practices and mentor QA team members in those practices Lead geographically distributed team and manage QA project schedules Requirements At least 3 years as QA lead with overall of 8 years in industry Extensive experience in testing webbased (SaaS web services etc) and an understanding of the nuance related to implementing testing and releasing in a SaaS environment Must have built a test automation framework in the past and led it from design and implementation through maintenance Proven standout experience in creating and executing detailed test cases test plans and test design document and performing test cases Has contributed to multiple major software releases SaaS deployments a strong plus Must have experience in writing basic SQL queries Experience with test automation tools JUnit and Selenium preferred Strong knowledge of version control systems SVN preferred Experience with Amazon Web Services EC2 environment Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Engineering Physics Math or equivalent work experience Experience in continuous deployment environment is a plus Competencies 1 Process Management knows how to organize people and activities
