| NCARBs Information Systems (IS) Directorate has an opening for a Scrum Master to serve as a dedicated team member with the primary responsibility to support their selforganizing selfmanaging team to successfully achieve their daily iteration and release goals and delivery objectives They do so by effectively applying implementing and enforcing Scrum principles and practices providing training on agile processes leading continuous improvement efforts and identifying and removing team impediments The Scrum Master will also help protect the team from outside influences which could otherwise interfere with the teams ability to deliver value in a short timebox (iteration) Duties will include Facilitates the teams progress toward their goals as a trained team facilitator constantly engaged and keeping the team focused on the goals of the iteration Eliminates impediments and removes any blocking issues beyond the teams authority or will solicit support from other teamsstakeholders until a resolution is reached so that the team can remain focused on achieving the objectives of the iteration Facilitates preparation and leading of agile process events including agile planning demoSprint review and collaborative design sessions Uses agile estimation techniques to help the team estimate features epics and user stories Conducts all Scrum ceremonies (daily standup meetings planning and review sessions etc) and mitigates road blocks Coordinates teams operating under architectural and portfolio governance system level integration and system demos Coordinates with other teams and shared resources during crossteam crossdependency Release Planning meetings Maintains the various sprint backlogs and help with metrics (velocity sprint burndown and product backlog burndown charts) Assists product owners with release planning and product backlog maintenance and grooming as needed Keeps current with the latest development in leanagile areas through reading courses conferences and webinars Qualifications Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or related field required or equivalent combination of education training and experience At least 4 years of experience leading multiple software development project teams with 2+ years leading multiple Agile software development project teams preferred Demonstrated Scrum Master experience with Agile development methodologies and processes (Scrum in particular) on actual multiple projectprogram engagements required Strong Agile Application Lifecycle Management (AALM) experience required Familiarity with continuous integration practices and principles test driven developmentdesign practices and principles automated testing practices and principles user acceptance testing and principles Excellent interpersonal skills including organizational team building people management issue resolution and customer relationship management Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the organization Excellent analytical and problem solving skills with proven ability to lead and manage projects with medium to high levels of technical andor functional complexity Demonstrated ability to systematically gather relevant information from different sources to address an issue and make a prompt and insightful decision High level of flexibility creativity and innovation Ability to maintain a positive attitude while under pressure Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite to include Word Outlook Excel and Power Point Professional Certifications Certified Scrum Master (CSM) required Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) preferred Project Management Institute Agile Certified Practitioner (PMIACP) preferred Project Management Institute Project Management Professional (PMIPMP) preferred NCARB is an EEO employer committed to recruiting a diverse workforce We offer a competitive salary and benefit package along with an excellent work environment including flexible work hours smart benefits program convenient metroaccessible location and opportunity for professional growth and development Please note that NCARB is not able to sponsor visas at this time To be considered for this position submit a cover letter resume and salary requirements |
