| Description The incumbent should possess skills to design develop analyze and perform various systems administration and application programming tasks The person must be able to develop and manage tasks related to database management and provide support to the institutions custom developed applications This fulltime position will be part of IITS team Additional Responsibilities Together with other IITS staff maintain a robust stable and secure infrastructure for the college UNIX servers SAN devices VMWare and other servers Perform systems administration tuning performance analysis security account management functions and other maintenance tasks Develop programs as needed to integrate enhance and administer the web infrastructures Evaluate new and existing software products Partner with advanced web content owners in deploying new technology and tools Perform other related duties including carrying assembly and physical installation of server equipment as assigned Qualifications Bachelorrsquos Degree in computer science or related field and a minimum of two years of experience in various Linux andor Unix operating systems including Solaris Ubuntu and Red Hat various scripting and programming languages and database administration or an equivalent combination of experience and education Demonstrated experience building extending and maintaining open source software applications built on the LAMP (Linux Apache MySQL PHP) stack Sophisticated system administration skills including uptodate knowledge of operating system and application security practices within LinuxUNIX Familiar with the administration and configuration skills required for Tomcat Apache and MySQL Experience with several of the following Programming scripting languages (PERL PHP JavaScript etc) Authentication and authorization methods (LDAP Active Directory Shibboleth WebAuth Kerberos and Radius) Content management tools Must be a selfmotivated individual with a demonstrated history of successful participation in largescale system implementation including planning and documentation Must possess strong written and oral communications skills and be able to effectively work in a diverse team in a highly collaborative environment Must be able to work well under conditions of stress and when necessary be available to work extended hours and occasional weekends The Position and the College The Core Technologies staff and their partners in Instructional Information Technology Services offer a supportive environment for independent teamoriented creative committed staff seeking intellectual and professional growth through involvement in the work of faculty and students In addition to providing a great work environment Haverford offers generous benefits programs for professional employees including outstanding medicaldental vacation and retirement benefits Please tell us how you meet these qualifications in your letter of application and submit your letter resume salary requirements and the names of three references via email To apply for this position please send materials to Marian Carroll (mcarrollhaverfordedu) Assistant to CIO Instructional Information Technology Services Review of applications will begin immediately and will continue until the job is filled Haverford College is an equal opportunity employer |
